I'm just starting to think about my hen do, as the wedding is creeping up behind us and i'm aware that i've not yet put any feelers down for what i would like to do for my hen do!

Potentially i have around 70+ ladies who i'd like to be invited to my hen party, between family, close family friends, friends and work colleagues. There a selection of age - from mid 70s and only just legal.

From being on hen parties in the past and reading other ladies comments on here, it seems that Hen Parties always seem to have a big price tag attached to whatever the bride or bridesmaid's have planned, which then starts people complaining and not turning up. I remember for my sisters hen do we went to the races and then for a meal in Liverpool - after the end of the day i reckon i'd spent about £200+ just on me, without thinking about my outfit etc.

So, for my hen party, i am considering booking a social club back room. Having a buffet and a disco, the social club will have cheap drinks and everyone will be able to afford to come because it'll be a cheap night.

I doubt i will have sleazy stuff such as a stripper because that's just minging and not my scene at all. But i was thinking of maybe having a few games or something similar and maybe trying to raise a little cash for charity?

My question to you all is, if your family member or friend had organised this for her hen do, would you go and what would you think?

I think hiring out a hall is a fab idea!
It would get into ridiculous amounts of money if you tried to take everyone to spa ect
& I'm sure they'd understand completely about money.

You can get great Hen Night games from @m@zon, and the majority you can do yourself to save money. Karoake could be a possibility? Chocolate fountain maybe.

At the end of the day, you'll be with the people you want to be so why would people be disappointed, it's all about the company, not what you do!

    Charity idea is wonderful!

The only thing i would have different, it i am the type of person to have naughty shaped straws and a stripper haha, even a pole in the middle for everyone to have a go on haha! i don't find it sleazy, i find it bit of fun, but i understand that is your decision. As long as the musics loud enough and drinks are flowing, its a thumbs up! (Y)

I think it's a good idea ... My foster mum had a lady's night in the local pub. She did it so everyone wore black and bling. They had entertament (singer) and a few of the local rugby lads topless at the door to give everyone a cocktail when they come in. This was years ago so I was too young to go but I remember the pub where selling tickets for it (she used to work there so she knew everyone going, she just let people diside for themselves if they was going) but from the photos looks like they had a fab time lol.

That sounds brill hun lol id prob chuck in something a little bit naughty just for the laughs strippers don't need to be minging hun they can be a laugh. Try getting some volunteers to serve drinks topless they can get sponsers and the money they raise can go to charity. Id defo love it :) xx

I think this is a really good idea hun, u can do it ur way, its easy to arrange u dont need to worry too much about poeple rsvp'ing or dropping out at the last minute and u picking up the bill for them if u do some organised activity, and the older people can leave early if they wish, and the young un's will get looked after as ur in a private room! GREAT IDEA!! If I had that many people I would pinch it lol xxxx
