I would just write something on the invitation along the lines of - unfortunately we will not be able to accomodate children apart from immediate family x

I am exactly the same my four, my sister and his sister and brothes kids and my friend whos kids are brides maids, 13 in total... and thats enough kids for me.. the thing is we cant afford for people to bring there kids and the last two wedding i went to my 4 kids were not invited... i didnt take offence, it was a good excuse to have a night/day out without them, we enjoyed the do as we were able to drink and relax, which is hard to do if you take kids,.... but i know what you mean, how do u tell people??

Maybe just write a note saying "unfortunately we will be unable to accomodate children during the day except those of the immediate family"?
