So I may not quite be at the point of booking and planning wedding bits (only been engaged 3 weeks, looking at 2016 for a wedding!) but we've got our engagement party booked!! We've managed o get booked in for Saturday 13th September at a local pub in their lounge which looks nothing like a pub, much more plush I love it! We're sticking to around 50-60 people mainly family, bearing in mind OHs family take up around 35 of those places and my family take up about 10 max haha!! Ordered our invitations today which will be personalised, just waiting on proofs to come through before they send them out!! The sample invites are in an album on my page (no idea how to get them on here, any help would be appreciated!)

I got engaged about three weeks ago and our engagement party is on the 6th September :) were not getting married till 2016 either so I was pleased to crack on with the engagement planning. I did my invites Friday and will post them Monday. I have a large family so it's about 50 being our family and 30 being friends. We're doing it at my parents house and hiring a bouncy castle for the kids and a bungee run for the big kids lol. Xx

We didn't have one as for us we feel it's a waste of money so instead we went for a meal with siblings, parents and closest friends only, it was an ok night, his family were an almost an hour late so we missed our sittig in the restaurant, then the food took forever to come, the lady on the next table had a heart attack ad y dad had to give first aid, because I'd not eaten all day I was quietly sozzled in the corner, the light bulbs blew above our table, his parents refused to split the bill with everyone else even though it would have been cheaper to do that, again his parents ignored mine when leaving and didn't say goodbye and finally when my mum and dad we're stopped at traffic lights his parents stopped short of being next to them so (we assume) they didn't have to wave... At the wedding his mum had a face like a smacked @r$e all day and even now people ask me what her problem was and comment about how much of her cleavage was on show! But after all that I do actually get on with her! Lol

We didn't have a party as didn't want to waste money on it, especially as the wedding wasn't cheap and we were buying our house which is always costly. We just had dinner with various friends who wanted to celebrate our engagement with us.

Awww MarriedMySuperman030 that certainly sounds like an eventful one! To be fair it's not costing us too much a few people are chipping in to the party instead of buying us engagement presents whcih si lovely we'd rather have a little celebration with everyone than the presents.
Did some more shopping yesterday, odd bits like tablecloths, napkins, banners and ordered some brilliant balloons- 10 sets of 3, a black one with happy engagement on them in silver at the top then a pearl and a silver going for silver, black and white for the party :) xx

We had an engagement party after 8 years, too right I was having a party to celebrate I never thought he would propose.
We didn't have a party for gifts etc we wanted to celebrate with our friends and family and we had a great time like im sure you and your fiancé will. sounds like its coming together nicely though

Had our proofs for the invites emailed and they're beautiful! So happy can't wait to show them off, and ordered a few extra want to keep one in my memory box :) should be ordering our cake this weekend going for a photo cake with a little message, we had a photo shoot done in Turkey last month (days after the proposal) so want to put one of them on :)
Downside our DJ can't do it so had to go with the venues own DJ but price was good so fingers crossed all should be well!
