    Hi,

Has anyone been to a wedding in Italy or getting married there? My best friend has got engaged and is looking at Italy however has asked me to help with the planning....due to her job she doesn't have as much time plus doesn't love planning as much as me :).

Any help would be appreciated? xx

I've not been to a wedding there, but a friend of mine got married in a little chapel there in Rome and they only had close family with them. A few days later they had a blessing with the Pope. Obviously they are catholic but they said even without the blessing the wedding was perfect and they wouldn't have changed a thing about doing it there.

Myself ive been to Rome twice but I would love to see some more of the country. I can only advise on the weather as it can be a very dry heat and when it rains it comes on suddenly but goes away just as quickly :-) so I would be cautious if its an outdoor wedding.

I'm getting married in Venice where we got engaged. Venice has got to be the most romantic place in the world! We are choosing a planner now as I wouldn't dare to do the documents alone, let alone trying to book everything in another country! You're very brave :)

I got married in Italy in July in a small town just south of the Almalfi coast. It was amazing & I have some amazing photos. We did use a wedding planner who is originally from Newcastle but has been living there over 20 years. She was brilliant & such a great help - I didn't have much organising to do. Let me know if you would like her details. And feel free to ask me any questions!
