my dad is giving me away and im the last of his daughters to walk down the aisle but my h2b has asked whenmy dad will want me back and he said he wont x

my dad has never bothered with me so def not invited to the wedding let alone give me away, i dont get on with my stepdad but there will be such an uproar if i dont ask him i will have him and just think of my oh at the end of the aisle and not at the person next to me. Sad but so worth the peace :)

Its horrible isnt it........its ur day yet ur being quiet and not saying anything to please everyone else.....i had a similar problem few weeks ago going for my wedding dress xx

my dad passed away :( so my grandad on my mum side is giving me away. He almost cried when he was asked as he really didnt expect to be doing it,

My mum and MIL dont speak so went with mum 2 look at dresses......found the one i wanted in my friends shop so i went back the week after to buy it but H2b asked if his mum could go so she wasnt feeling left out....so i relucantly agreed got there and we were looking through the dresses and she was picking out old antwacky ones which i didnt like. Tried on my dress and i got a big lump in my throat and i thort 'i really want my mum here right now' it was horrible tryin to please every1 yet i was upset by it really really got to me and i couldnt stop thinking about it all day.

the shop are keeping it there for me until next year so i am going to get my hair n makeup done next yr like the way i want it on wedding day an go back with my mum only.......not only that i dont want every1 seeing my dress x

My mum is not a speech person and I know she's really concerned about it so I've said she doesn't have to do one if she doesn't want to. However if she does then great :) I'm thinking of doing one instead but reversing the roles. So rather than mum making a speech about me growing up, I was thinking of thanking her for things in my life and picking out a few occasions that I can share with everyone, without getting too slushy. But I get so emotional when talking to groups of people about personal stuff and concerned that not everyone will be able to hear me.

Yeah, at first I wasn't sure if she'd say yes to giving me away but she did, she may well surprise me regarding the speech :) I really do need to say a big thank you to her though as she's making all hte dresses and sorting the suits as she works in a tailors - she's saving us sooo much money and stress

I really wanted my 12 year old son to give me away as its my 2nd marriage and dad gave me away first time. My son adores H2b as do my 2 girls as their real dad doesnt bother with them. Anyway, dont want to upset my dad so have decided to have them both give me away :) x x

hattie that is really brave im not sure i could walk down the aisle on my own, no correct that i no i couldnt i would probably trip over my own feet :)

I'm not quite sure what to do, I'm on good terms with my dad and all but we're not very close so would feel kinda weird having him give me away, so thinking about going it alone...but that might upset my dad so I might just let him anyway

oh god my dad loves talking in crowds he has got the gift of the gab and such a dry sense of humor, so i think there will be plenty of laughs and lots of deep in takes of breath. it will certainly be one to remeber i know that much lol

I'm really not sure what I'll do. My dad left when I was about 4 and has since passed away, I don't get on with my mum all that well (understatement!), the only grandparent I have left is my nan, and she is quite old and frail now bless her. My daughter is 3, all she wants is to be a princess for the day (who can blame her). There is the option of my sisters, but one of them is planning most of the wedding and doing my make up and nails and I don't want to put more pressure on her, and the other one is in charge of looking after the children and making sure my mother doesn't say anything mean to me. I may well just have to go it alone even though I'm sure I'd rather have someone with me at the time

I have one uncle and one cousin but they won't be invited as they don't get on with any of the rest of the family and we really don't want a riot starting. my bil2b is a no good junkie thief (his own mothers words), my sisters boyfriend is the photographer and I have no male friends. I really am in a bit of a pickle, I still have at least a year though so maybe I could make a new male bf in that time and rope him in, lol. Llike I say, I've got plenty of time so I'm sure I'll come up with something
