I have went and got my first quote for flowers i was never really sure how much was a good price for wedding flowers (even though this is my 2nd time it was my parents who paid for everything so i didnt really know how much things cost!!). I went along to my local florist and this is what im getting:

    Brides bouquet=75
    3Bridesmaids bouquet3@45
    5Buttonholes 4.00 each 20.00
    2pedestals 2@75=150
    1Top Table arrangement25
7 flower arrangement for guest tables (these will only be a 3-4 flowers with greenery and im supplying the vases)7x7tables=49
delivery charge to church and venue90 so in total its £544 plus 20% VAT brings it to £651

I realise that as i live in dundee things may be cheaper here than england which may be more expensive but the price i have been quoted is £651 as i forgot two important things these would still have to be added on but is this a good price so far or too expensive?

My mum did all our arrangements for us, so I don't really have any first hand experience of costs of flowers. However, from what I've read on other threads, this maybe seems a little high to me. I could be wrong though!

My Partner who volunteers in a florist says thats really high. She thinks that it would only be about £400 I would be going around and asking for more quotes.

I would look for other quotes also as it does seem high, our florists first quote was too high so we asked what she could do and it pretty much halved, i would advise to barter any quotes u get hun xx

Your bouquet is cheaper than mine. My bouquet is costing £130, but the bridesmaids ones were £20 each for me. but in the end I got flowers off the bay of e for £7 each :)

I think that sounds very expensive, i have done artificial due to my very bad hayfever and that has worked out a lot cheaper but that still sounds really really high for flowers.
What i would suggest doing is taking that quote to another couple of florists and seeing if they can beat it, if they can then go back to the original florist with the better quotes, play it that way to get a cheaper deal.

    Hi hun

Depends on what flowers you want - if you want flowers that are out of season, not normally the colour you're going for or rare then they'll be more expensive. I think the delivery charge is the worst bit - is it far from the florists? Going by quotes I've had they look normal, we were quoted £175 for pedestals from one place so they dont seem bad. Having said that, most of our quotes had VAT on already, may be a bit harsh before VAT x

I've just found this after posting in your other thread.

I would say that's normal (well compared to my price anyway). Although delivery charge is a little shocking...we're getting free delivery and set up.

HI Mrs Ross - what flowers is that for?
If roses I would say thats average (Im in Aberdeen) but you will probably find cheaper - usually the ones that dont go to wedding fairs are cheaper and if you get one near your venue you will save on delivery costs x

Flowers are really dear and I was shocked at how pricey they are and since i have myself, 6 bridesmaid and a flowergirl to cater for before thinkin about buttonholes its too much, I found a girl near me who does the most gorgeous foam bouquets and you wouldnt know they were fake and at a fraction of the cost so thats what im going for :) you should look into it x

hi jodie just a question are you getting married at the same place as ur reception? we have been charged £30 for florist to deliver to church, grooms house and my parents house she then charges another 60 to wait at ceremony to take flowers to reception (which is roughly 40 miles from church) also are you not having any flowers at your ceremony like pedestals?

    hiya,
Cant help with the transportation costs (delivery charge etc) we are having ceremony and reception in the one place, included in our price at venue was a pedestal arrangement and the ceremony table flowers...which will be moved i asked them to put the pedestal arrangement near to my cake (so no one would fall over it!| and it would set off my cake nicely and look gorgeous in the photo's) then the ceremony table arrangement will be out top table arrangement.
    I have a florist costing me £499.

    Bouquet = £80
    4 bridesmaids bouquets £200
    flower girl wand = £7.50
    1 groom buttonhole = £6.00
    2 bestman buttons = £11.00
    pageboy button - £ 4.00
    3 corsages = £40.50

    a massive archway = £150

i am getting wholesale flowers for another £100 on top and making my own table centrepieces :) xxx

i would get someone else to take them or leave them? i was a waitress for functions mainly weddings for 4 years and have noticed that people dont pay too much attention to pedestals but they like the bouquets and table arrangements cause they're right in front of them for the meal but most of their focus is on you :) thats why i'm not having them ive been quite casual with them tbh i showed the florist what style i like and have left it to her to sort out the right types, colours etc

may be a bit cheeky but i'd say you have had a few quotes elsewhere but would rather book with her but as she can imagine budgets are a big deal with weddings and unless she can do it all for £423 without pedestals or £532 with and you'll transport yourself or can work out a better price than £60 (for example) then you'll have to book elsewhere

i got a couple of quotes before booking just to make sure the price i wanted to pay was possible lol xx

We're having a florist pedestal at the church which we're going to leave as a present, and ribbon pew ends - there are a group of flower arrangers at the church who will do the pulpit, 2 shelf arrangements and the porch and all they want is a donation of say £50 towards the flowers, just went to a marriage prep day on Saturday and found out there are 2 couples getting married the day before me, so we agreed to club together and ask for the flower arrangers, and between us it'll only cost us about 20 each - bargain!
