    Button holes x 6 = £24
    Corsages x 2 = £24
    Pedestals at church x 2 = £200
    Pew ends x 10 = £250
    Removal charge = £50
    Top table flowers 2 x birdcages = £120
    3 x bucket arrangements = £75
5 birdcage arrangements with stand (table arrangements) = £400

Umm....I'm not sure because have not had mine yet. I know the prices for some flower stuff for my friend's wedding and the button holes seem quite expensive as compared to hers (and I think her florist is quite expensive). Could perhaps use pedestal arrangements for top table too. Also not sure what 'removal charge' is? - could family or friend not do this quickly for free?!

I'm not getting as much as that from my florist, but know my pedestals aren't that much, VAT hasn't been mentioned to me and I don't have a removal fee to pay.

I'm guessing from your original post that it's a general florist? I had quotes from florists who do all sorts and they were very high, then I found someone who just specialised in wedding flowers and it was a lot cheaper. Just an idea.

Gosh that seems very expensive but as I am only getting my bouquet, bridesmaid bouquet, flowergirl wand, 4 buttonholes and 2 flower arrangements for venue I havent as much on my flower list, and as our florist is just across the road we arent charged for removal or moving one of the flower displays to our reception venues entrance either. Our table decorations at the wedding reception are included in our package for there too.

Couldnt you shop around and see what else it out there? Also do you really need to have pew ends or if you really want them, just have them on alternate pew ends so to reduce the cost? Also could you change your table arrangements for a cheaper alternative as they seem very expensive? Just a thought or 2. x

Blinking heck love, that's pretty pricey to me!! But where are you? I'm in Swansea so may be cheap for flowers down here. I'm doing the centrepieces myself so it won't be costing so much. I did have a quote who wanted to charge £90 for a handtied tuip boquet for an April wedding; tulips aren't too pricey at this time of year! I then decided to grow them myself; bought the bulbs and everything but then I bumped into a florist at a wedding fayre. This is what I am paying now:
    Bridal handtied- £40
    Bridesmaid handtied- £30
    3x gents buttonholes £4.50 each
Mum's hyacinth corsage for bag- £8
    Gent's hyacinth buttonhole- £4.50
Grooms mum tulip corsage for bag-£ 8
    Gents tulip buttonhole- £4.50
    Caketops- £15, £12 and £8
    50 stem tulips- £40
    20 bunches daffodils-£24
    bear grass- £5
    all in £212.50 including delivery

I'm only having a small wedding in a reg office so don't need to decorate there, but I think your quote is quite steep. I'd say shop around!!!

    hi, darling.

first thing - what is actually in the bouquets? - it may not actually be that expensive - but this does depend on whats flowers are in them.
I have never in all my years known of anyone who charges a "removal fee" - its seems a waste of £50 - just donate them to the church or reception if you arent too fussed about having them, if possible?
the birdcages seems quiet pricey, but this does depend how well/flowers they are decorated with (i mean if it looks like it should be in a wedding mag, then its probably reasonable) if its just a little posy inside then it might be a bit expensive - im also presuming this includes the price of the cage and stand?
If anything i would say that your bridesmaids and brides bouquets are very reasonable.
button holes and corsages - it depends what flowers you are having?
your church pedestals and pew ends are quite expensive - can you get away with less ends, and only 1 pedestal? maybe? - or have silk if your wanting to pay less?
ive also not really heard of anyone pricing vat up seperatley.

but deffinatley get a couple of other quotes - try to make sure they other qoutes are for the same/ as close as possible to the original items, but DONT always go for the cheepest - go for who you feel happiest with, have better rapport with, or who have been reccomneded by friends and family.

bear it all in mind, and let us know how you get on!!

    love mrs bouquets xxx

MrsHoward2B quote was from Jades flower design - their based in coggleshall. Also saw another florist which came in about the same and that was TJ's design studio which is at Barleylands. Think my mum and i are going to try and do as much as we can ourselves eg pew ends and mayb table centres depending on what we decide on - the birdcages and stands have been axed as too expensive!! MrsB removal fee was to transport flowers from church to venue and most of flowers were roses (sweet avalanche, peach avalanche and amnesia- we're going for a country house wedding theme). x x

OMG that is steep for flowers, I have been quoted £300 and thats for:
    9 Buttonholes
1 rose handtied for me -
    6 bridesmaids bouquets
    2 Bouquets for our mum
A bucket with flowers for the flower girl
    2 corsages

Our hotel are supplying the table arrangements however the florist we went too said she could do it for £10 for each table, would defo look around x

deffinatley too expensive then!!! if you were having orchids, calla lillies, lillies, roses, ect.. then its not too bad! but 1600 for roses is sheer madness!! the bird cages look nice with just a tiny little posy of flowers inside them or even a big thick chunky candle - you dont need a stand either, and im sure you can pick the cages up from confetti for under £20 each, if you still fancy them (i think there beautiful) pew ends - why not just have 2 at the very top of the isle and 2 at the very bottom - cut the cost and avoids them getting damaged as people are comming up and down the church to sit down, you can put bows on the rest (that should make a quote alot cheeper) top table arrangement - why not just have a flower arrangement for the middle (i would think about £50-£75 ish) and pin ivy onto the table cloth - will look lovley! and cheeper. the pedestal like i said before can you get anway with just 1? i think you can make the quote cheeper to fit in with your budget, like i have just said above and given you a few ideas to start with. i mean we wouldnt charge as much as that for fresh int he shop, but you do have to take into account a different area, over heads ect... prices do vary a lot from county to county! could you try a different shop a little further from home? as its a big order i would think that they would be willing to travel. hope it helps!! xxx

Im going to a small, local florist and Im getting bride's bouquet (roses and thistles), bridesmaid corsage, x2 mother of the bride/groom bouquet's, x5 button holes, delivery to 2 houses on a Sunday for £180! I think £1600 is quite expensive. Try haggling! it definately works....i've managed to get down quite a few prices by telling them it's too expensive, for example our venue wanted £6000, but we changed to the Sunday and are not having the wedding menu, but the restaurant menu, and are now paying £2860!
