I have just had my quote for silk flowers from recommended (on here) online shop. They've quoted me nearly £500 for brides bouquet, 3 bridesmaids, 1 large display, 2 corsages and 7 button holes.

I was hoping to save by getting artificial flowers online, but it seems quite alot?

That does seem quite pricey to me!! I'm having silk bouquets and have been quoted £100 for a big bride one and then 3 smaller bridesmaids ones! xxx

I have artificial, some foam some silk. From an online company.
    £185 (inc p&P) for:
    tear-drop brides bouquet
    2 corsages
    2 bridesmaids wands
    3 buttonholes
    1 buttonhole
So in fairness it might not be bad, and of course it depends on the ones you have chosen.

Mine have arrived and they are beautiful

I think maybe the problem is that I sent a picture of what I wanted. Changing, airbrushing etc may well be why it's bumped up the price.

I did tell her my budget was £300-350 and to make smaller or change how they thought to match this but alas, it didnt happen!

Don't want to pee them off by changing my mind, but I really thought it would be cheaper

Does seen quite expensive but then the display ones are very big so that may be where the extra is coming in... I wanted real flowers for my centrepieces and they were going to be £130 each then the display one for top table £150.. I've seen Some companies charge £40 a bridesmaid for silk flowers... This as an estimate is around your £500 mark.

    Display £100
    Bridesmaids £140 (£46each ish)
    Bride £70
    2 corsages £50 (£25 each)
    7buttonholes £140 (£20 each)

Ah what to do?!! The only thing going for this florist is that she's got a sample of my bridesmaid dress to airbrush the flowers to exactly the same colour.

Are there any others out there that do artificial flowers and can colour match?

Ok, so I ended up ordering from this expensive online silk flower lady. Only because she could airbrush to the same colour as my sample material. Really wish I hadn't because now I emailed her to ask how much for a bunch of loose flowers to decorate my wedding cake and she came back with £64.99. I think this is a lot for a few loose flowers?

Can I ask advice, does it really matter if the flowers on my cake arent the same colour as the other floral decs? Does anyone know a good online/bay of E site to get silk flowers cheaper? x

i got all my silk flowers from country baskets they have an amazing range at all sorts of prices some are very expensive as they look and feel like real ones. that price is expensive but i had a quote from a local florist of nearly £900 for
    1 brides bouquet
    2 bridesmaids
    2 flower girls
    5 button holes
    7 table centres
and wedding arch they did have crystals added to but the price was going to be the same for real or silk she said silk aren't always cheap unless you get really cheap ones of course and i have to say she was right i have actually made all my own flowers (except the arch) to keep the costs down and i still have spent about £400 all together including the martini vases x
