we went to view a potential reception venue, and i think its great, we will have excusive use of the whole 1st floor, which includes the main reception room, which seat 150 for a meal, also has a stage, dancefloor, and bar. then there is a 2nd slightly smaller room, which has a HD screen for our use (i was thinking a room for the children to play in, take a Wii etc.) and then a smaller room which will be a quiet/chill out room, with a couple of sofas and cots/prams for tired babies.
anyway, for this, 3 course meal for 70, an evening buffet for 120, also includes mirrored centrepieces and table floral displays for each table, a member of staff acting as toastmaster, and cake stand and knife, and disco (lighhts, smoke laser etc.) for £3300 - i think its a brilliant deal, but people i have told about it think its really expensive! any opinions?? xxx

i thought so :D - im think im going to arrange another visit, as im not sure if the table floral displays are just standard ones they have and use for every wedding or not, obviously if they dont go then i will need to arrange my own lol xXx

Depends on the actual venue but seems good to me...70 ppl having 3 course meal at a very cheap £35 is £2450 alone, so then buffet and disco, centre pieces plus more is a good deal. Dont forget tho you may need to buy wine for toasting as that may not be included... and arrival drinks!

drinks are not included, they do not have any set drinks packages, so is something else i will need to ask about, my H2B mother is a waitrose manager, and they have a lot of meetings and confrences there, and she said the food is lovely, so am starting to get quite excited, but just seems a lil too good to be true, so will wait and see!! xXx

loola, ask them if they charge a corkage, if not get your Mum to order the wine with her discount you will be saving a fair bit.. Normally half a bottle of wine per person for the main meal and you also have your toasting champagne/sparkling wine...
Well done on the find... sounds fab...
We have one section off of the function for kids to mess around, play games etc :0) Kxxxxxx

Woww!! Thats a great deal. We're paying £35.50 per head for the 3 course meal, £9 per head for the evening buffet, and £240 for DJ as extra. These costs do cover extras like the honeymoon suite, and drinks reception but still it quite expensive but the best deal we found for the number of people who are coming. xx

I think thats brilliant! And if you love it and think it is too then go for it, and with them other rooms as well I think thats a brilliant idea! Depending on what centerpieces you would have liked your saving loads and also the disco because its just cost us £500 for basically everything your having! x
