Stationary - STD cards have been ordered, invitations to be done feb/march
    Wedding cake - Awaiting confirmation
Rings - still to be sorted
    Gifts - to be done
Stags and Hens - to be sorted

We're not having a honeymoon straight after getting married! we are asking for money instead of gifts (as we have already lived together for a while we dont need anything) so we're hoping to get enough for a honeymoon that way! if you've got iphone i downloaded a free wedding planner app and that has a full checklist of everything you need to do and when it needs sorting for! you do seem to have everything pretty much sorted tho :-) xx

We have £1000 to spend on a honeymoon so far but even though it seems a lot, its not as much as I'd hoped we'd save. We've gone for a smaller venue so we could have a decent honeymoon. I had my heart set on Florida but realistically we need at least 2500 to do Florida and then spending money so Ive realised that aint gunna happen lol. So now I'm thinking about Italy....not entirely sure though....we need to start saving asap! The honeymoon is quite important to us as all the holidays we've had together, the weather has been miserable and we are desperate for some decent time off together somewhere pretty and hot.

The only thing I see missing is your food and catering - unless this is also included with your venue? We're going for our decider tasting in 2 weeks!! We've also asked for cash as our wedding presents, so immediately after the wedding we're going for a 4 day 'mini-moon' as a recharge somewhere like the Lakes, then 3-4 months later we'll use the wedding presents towards a big honeymoon somewhere hot! Just an idea...

That is a good idea but my work are very funny with holidays so I've booked three weeks off for my wedding already! lol. Its a good idea to ask for cash instead of pressies though. Was thinking about doing that but not quite sure how to go about it....

It's really popular now, you can set up a honeymoon fund using sites like bottom drawer etc, where guests can chip in towards activities for you to do on honeymoon - or I've seen people using little poems in invites where they ask for money, us we're using the Chinese tradition of giving money as that's what I am! :-)

"we know its not traditon, its not the way its done, but instead of a wedding list. we'd like a bit of sun. we've lived together quite a while, and all the bills are paid, we've got our plates pots and pans, our plans have all been made, we would appreciate your help though to send us on our way, a contribution to our honeymoon in a land quite far away, but most importantly, we request you to come to our wedding as our guest to share our special day and have some fun along the way"

P.S. you could always change your holiday request to 10 days then book the longer one later!

ooh ok, see I've only ever been to a couple of weddings. My brothers when I was 15 and not interested, my sisters when I was like 5 and my ex friend who didnt send out invites...so I'm a bit clueless at these things. I've only learnt what I know from being on here lol. Thats a good idea though. I think we should do that.
