Hi ladies, I am after your help and advice again.

We are getting married at 2pm with the BBQ starting at 5.30pm and an ice cream tricycle. Not a day and evening reception - just one party. We will be having the speeches before BBQ so am guessing 4.45pm. Obviously there are photos to be taken as well and there will be a drinks reception on arrival at the hotel. The church is about 20 mins away from the hotel. We will be having a DJ but do we need other entertainment as well? If so any ideas as on a really tight budget and things are already spiralling!! I was thinking that it would be quite busy already but a friend of mine is having pianist, magician, large garden games, candy floss machine, air hockey tables and is worried she hasn't got enough! This got me stressing too.

    Help!!!!

A dj would be enough if that's all you want, and on the other hand it wouldn't look too busy if you added another form of entertainment. That sounds unhelpful lol what I'm trying to say is do whatever you and h2b wants regardless of what other people say or what other people's weddings are like :) if you do what you want then it'll be an amazing day :)

The greatest thing you'll ever learn
is just to love and be loved in return

In my opinion a DJ is enough. If you did want something else you could have a DIY photo booth perhaps? Not sure how much they cost but I have been to a wedding where there was a caricaturist there for a few hours?

i think a DJ is enough. we are having a DJ and H2B uncle sings with a guitar so he going to do that for a bit but if it wasnt for him then we would just have a DJ x

I know i'm knocking on a bit (52) but all this entertainment malarky seems a bit over the top to me, i'm sure a DJ will be fine particularly if you're on a tight budget.

We just had a DJ but ours was a "traditional" wedding. You could always get some garden games or something if you feel its needed. And as for your friend, sometimes too much can be overkill and force guests into activities they dont want! x

We have got a magician for the day time and a DJ in the evening and that's all we are having.

    I wouldn't worry a DJ is enough :)

We're only having a magician during photos/while evening guests arrive and then a DJ for evening. We were thinking about a photobooth but we're planning to ask our photographer to stay abit later for extra photos when people are too drunk to remember to take any :-) I agree too much can be overkill. My friend had outdoor games and no one bothered with them.

I'm only having a DJ. I may do a small sweets cart, but I would be doing it myself and not booking one. I think it should be enough. I always love dancing, I don't mind a lot of things at a wedding but I do sometimes think that it detracts from the wedding, its a chance for the family/friends to catch up have a chat and party, its not a carnival. But I think its about preferences and ultimately what you can afford. Don't put pressures on your self to be the same as your friend, its all about what you want :).

We're also having a 'party' rather than a reception and night do. We're having a DJ or jukebox, along with garden games and an adult bouncy castle. I'm hoping that will be enough as here isn't room for much more!
