I was talking to h2b the other week about suits etc & his reply was "i'll sort it a few weeks before the wedding" does he not understand that suits need to be looked for etc MONTHS in advance????
please tell me my h2b isnt the only one who's said this?

no mines same it took me 2 months just to get him to invite his friend and he hasnt even asked him to be bestman yet !! he also need to invite some other friends but he hasnt done it he useless he probably be the same with the suit wont bother till a couple days before probably lol

He's not the only one. My OH couldn't care less, think's he can pop in the day before and get what he wants, silly idiot is a weight lifter, is all weird sizes and has a huge chest and will most likely need a suit tailored, he has to have all his work suits tailored so I have no idea why he think's he can get away with his wedding suit!

I must be quite lucky, my h2b said yes to a suit I thought he would like a few months ago now, but we aren't ordering it for another month or so as he is losing weight at the minute and he doesn't want to buy it and have it looking ill fitting on him. But he has picked it at least so that is a bonus, lol. x

You are far from alone as you can see : ) we have a while yet so i cant comment on what my h2b will do as of yet!! but he had been saying its all too early to sort stuff out yet, until yesterday when I caught him looking at wedding bits on the bay of e amazingly, I didnt draw attention to it because I might have scared him off just made him think i wasnt looking. My H2b is quite small for a man in build so any suits he does have would have to be tailored as they just hang off him. So hopefully he will have the sense to do that once we know. hey ho its all fun!. : ) x

Errrr, My H2b has his suit but no shirt,tie and shoes! Hes decided to do this a week before the wedding!!!! Hes in the army and is finding it hard to get time off, Just like my bridesmaid shes in the army So her dress fitting wont be untill a couple of weeks before!! xx

My H2B has already started looking at kilts, but we have the problem of hire shops change their hire tartans every year and it is unusual to keep a hire tartan for 2 years with certain exceptions. Where as we are buying H2B's outfit, we are hiring all the rest of the groomens and ushers kilts so we'll have to wait until year of the wedding to see what is available. But H2B is very excited about getting his outfit he can't wait.

Its not h2b i have this problem with its the bestman. We told the best man that we wouldnt be hiring kilts and that we would prefer it if he wore as suit as the person giving me away was asked to wear a suit so h2b stood out as he would be the only one in a kilt but no mil2b and the bestman decided to TELL us that bestman would be wearing a kilt. We said no but they never listened. We are due to go next weekend and our friend fitted for his as he is giving me away and when we told mil2b this she said oh we will see what we are doing and if we are not doing nothing we will come. GRRRRRR xx

i was really lucky. my h2b detests shops with a passion, and even asked me last week to go and get him new trainers!
when i wanted to look at suits, he trotted beside me obligingly much to my surprise, and next week he is taking my brother to be measured up and im letting them go 'unsupervised' lol. only reason they are going alone is so they can go for a few drinks afterwards.
my only concern was he kept picking up suits waistcoats etc with shades of brown/beige. it took him a while to realise (accept) colour scheme extends to their suits too - div! xx

Gav's organised with everything usually and is taking an interest in everything - but he still hasn't sorted suits either. He keeps saying he'll get round to it after we've visited Gretna in May. That's only giving him two and a half months - but he keeps reminding me to book in for my dress fitting lol.

Well I've got h2b like that, and my dad saying he's going to get his own suit (we've already told him that even though he doesn't want a mourning suit, we'll buy his) - so I've lost my rag a bit there as they all seem to want to do their own thing.

My H2B looked at suits not long after we got engaged 18 months ago, he found one he liked and the man who owns the shop told him to come back a couple of months before the wedding to sort out sizes and hire etc. So he's going back at the end of this month with his brother/best man, hopefully they'll still do the colour he wants lol

With a breezy 9 months to go, Ed went along to a hire shop (Mozz Broz)and was very happy with what he tried on - I was actually in tears thinking how fabulous he looked. And I'm not a gushy person!
The shop assistant had a quiet word with me about colours and the suggested a cravat and waistcoat that would suit the colour scheme. He tried them on and I said "oh wow, you look brilliant" (which he did!) and then... "you know what?" (as if it just occurred to me) "that will go perfectly with the dress I'm wearing". And he was happy to go along with that without knowing any more details. He had originally wanted to wear pink or something which wouldn't have worked. Phew!
But, if *I'm* shopping for something, I shop around and I make sure that it's value for money and that I'm getting the best there is. But his approach is that if he finds something that's right, why look anywhere else? So we didn't try Debenhams or any other hire places. Is that a man thing?
I think the reason Ed got it sorted early was because he is quite tall with very long legs and a slim frame and he wasn't sure if he'd be able to hire trousers that fit or if he'd have to buy some. Luckily he could!

Im very lucky i think. H2b is booking and organising loads, and has already bought his, fil2b and BM suits with a year to go :D He has also decided on his waistcoats, but we just need to agree on a supplier as we have veto'd a few due to personal reasons lol.
