I know this has probaly been covered before but here goes..

I am getting married 1st august 2013 and was thinking i'd send invites out around sept/oct this year as EVERYONE will need to arrange travel and accomadationas all our guests live a minimum of 2 hours drive away.
the thing is I'm expecting our second daughter in august so I think I might be too wrapped up in that to sort any invites out. do you think I should sort something out now and at least get them written out etc ready so all I have to do is put stamps on them when the time comes? not sure if its too early..

    cheers

I dont get married until 2015 so will be sending out save the dates a year to the day before as we get married on a sunday (cousin gets married on a sunday this year and loads of family are moaning they cant come because of work the next day, they have 6 months notice!!!!)
Then our invites will go out 6 months before hand.
Im actually ordering them at the end of the year so they are all ready to go

I would say send out save the dates a year before as this still gives guests notice and time to sort out travel and accomodation, and then send the invites about 4 months beforehand xxx

Get them written out now, as and when you've got time, like others have said its one job less to worry about. But i'd think about sending out save the dates out first, a year in advance, so people know they need to make some sort of arrangements, but most people expect to make plans to attend a wedding, and the earlier you send out invites the less likely people are to remember to make them. I'm sending mine out at the moment. and i've got just under 6 months to go, and I have loads of people making travel plans etc. If people want to come they'll make sure they can get there if you send the invites out 2 years are 2 weeks in advance :) x

I think it's too early personally but if it's good for you then go for it. I'd be concerned people would forget to make the arrangements thinking they'd do it 'closer to the time'. I sent save the dates out last month although I thought that was late for stds and would definitely seem late for you when they need to travel. I'm sending my invites out in June, with 1 month to reply... I think that's plenty of time to respond x

we sent save the dates to day guests about 18months before as we were told it doesnt matter when you send them. It is a bit too early for the invites as people may forget but having a save the date with the venue details will defo help.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
    start weight 10st 1.5 lbs

I would say put out save the dates in sept this year and then put invites out 1st April next year. I think if you put invites out a year before, some people will forget. That's just my personal opinion though xx

well i already have sent save the dates to the family membes we want and people we know will need more notice to make their arrangements so most people know now anyway. I just think that giving 6 months notice is to short as our wedding is the height of summer and as the wedding is in eastbourne the hotels get booked up quick, hense why I though sending the actual invites out in october might be better. what do you think? I am really confused by this whole invite thing....must be baby brain :)

Well if the people who are invited have a save the date & already know where your getting married I dont see the need to send invites a year before I would just stick to sending them 6 mths before or later! I get married in 4 mths n havent sent my invites yet!! Lol
