ive got my hair trial booked for 30th december and was wondering if anyone else is having h2b there whilst they have it done? he would give me an honest opinion if it looks good or not, but im worried about him knowing what im going to be looking like on our day, apart from the dress of course. he wouldnt really have any where to go if i kicked him out for the afternoon lol. i dont know what to do.

Never though of this Thinking about it though, I imagine a lot of H2B see the trials as a lot of girls then go out for the eve. Failing that, you dont go & wash off the make up & take your hair out straight away I reckon loads of guys have seen the wives to be after the trial
Not much help am I? LOL

Its personal choice. Don't forget that it will need to be thicker than usual to ensure it lasts all day and looks good on the photos. H2B may think it is caked on but would look good when you have you have the full outfit on. Is there no-one else you could take for an honest opinion?

It's personal.
My make-up on the day will be very similar to what I usually have, just done professionally; so I'm not worried about him seeing it.
I'm starting my hair trials New Year's Eve; I have my hair put up about 4 times a year, so between now and the wedding will probably have it put up about 3 times excluding the official trial, plus I've had it put up quite a few times before; so whatever I have, H2B will have likely seen it at some point. Again, it doesn't bother me.
So it wouldn't bother me if he was at my trial; but it's down to you :-)

Also, it shouldn't look 'caked'; I've had mine put up, often in really intricate styles, several times, and it has never looked caked in product; and it has lasted up to 72 hours (I'm a tramp and hate taking it out, it takes ages and bl00dy hurts lol, so I leave it in as long as I can get away with!)
Oops just saw that was re make-up! Again though, a good artist should not cake it on, it should still look good and fairly natural IRL.

Ha ha! The subject line looks like you're up before a jury!! Seriously though, as a BM for my mums wedding I couldn't do a trial, so just had it done on the day. I was convinced I looked like a drag artist as I've never worn so much make up before, but my OH reassured me I was ok. It looked fab on the pics and I got used to it throughout the day, so it turned out it was ok after all. So he was right. Your OH will be able to give you an honest opinion, so no need to boot him out I think. Plus, is he the type who might need a manicure or anything else done (eyebrows taming) while the make up artist is there? ;-)

I think it should be ok hun as like other ladies have said on here, I think most H2B's see their future bride with the make up and hair after the trial. Just make sure that when you're having it done that he doesn't hear anything you tell the makeup artist about what any of your dress or rest of outfit is like as that is usually the start of the conversation so the makeup artist can get an idea of your "look". xx

oooo i hadnt ever thought about that. very good point. Personally i would choose for him not to be, but if he will give you an honest opinion then it might be a good thing to have him there x

Personally I will be taking my mum as she will be completely honest with me and I would hope my hairdresser would be too as I have been going to her since I was 5! But I don't see any problem in him being there for it. If you are worried about him seeing the overall look then you could always ask him to leave before you put on the tiara and veil. That way he will still see what style it is and whether it suits you but wont see the finished product xxx

I can't see it being a problem, says the girl who's H2B helped chose her wedding dress. I would hate to have it done for him to hate it on the day. Maybe him seeing it would be a good idea. Its personal though hun, you should do what you feel comfortable with.

Mine would get bored and he would seem uncomfortable after a while I just know he would so I won't be having mine come with me. I would rather go alone or bring a friend. Does he really want to sit and watch and listen to women bang on about make up and hair? If he's comfortable enough with it then by all means ask him to come but I just know for a fact my fiancé would cringe lol.

It will be at my flat so he'll just watch tv or play his xbox. That's if the kids aren't there lol

This is a good question. I don't want h2b to see my hair or make up but seeing as we live together, I don't know how we could avoid each other haha Xxx

My hair got taken down straight away so hubby never got to see it. All it was was a bit wavey when he got in. I wanted to keep everything a secret from him and did not want him to see any of it.
