I made up a poem, some bits were taken from the verses already posted but i will put mine on here anyway, tell me what you think.

I know this may sound cheeky, and we don’t like to ask
But we have everything in our home, from a kettle to a flask
We have a toaster, we have our towels, we have glasses and the plates
The only thing we really want, is to set the next big date.
A honeymoon is all we need, I’m sure you will agree
To make our special occasion, the best that it can be
Of course we don’t expect a thing, we’re really not that bad
We just ask for your presence, so a good day can be had
But if a gift is what you had in mind, then please respect our wishes
A money donation would be great, we really don’t need dishes

still not sure if i will use it cos it just seems so cheeky, its not very good wedding etiquette really is it lmao xxx

clareabella, we are. we have everything we need in the house and it will help towards some of the spending money for the honeymoon.
my sil2b has said she finds it more rude to put a gift list in with the invitation that to request money instead.
    xx

we are putting one of the many poems in with our invites asking for money towards our honeymoon. we have been living together for a while and have more than enough of everything already.
asked a few of my family and friends if they thought it was cheeky asking for money and they said no it was fine.

We're thinking of contributions towards our honeymoon. H2b has decided we're not putting anything in the invitations, but if people ask then we'll tell them. Both our mothers are aware and can spread the word as well x
