Basically myself and my husband married in 2012, We want to renew our vows and have a day that is all done by us and not by family (my mum chose my dress - I had the venue that they could afford, even thought we were willing to pay the rest or all, Of course we were very grateful)
We have talking about this for a while and we started planning for next year (2017) So we have been married 5 years!! My husband now said we should wait until we have been married 10 years... So 2022! he seems to think we can look at venues and start planning now?? REALLY?? Is he right?
(Sorry if this isn't the right area to post this) x

I suppose you can start looking at venues for 2022 now to get some ideas but like with a wedding, you wouldn't necessarily start it all 5 years in advance. By the sounds of it you are going to have a do-over the way you want it with what you can afford so he may have a point about waiting until 10 years so you can save up for a really nice venue. You could always do both you know, maybe you could run off to Gretna or something and have a quiet one next year, and a big do for your 10 year anniversary?

Thats the word i was looking for 'do-over. we have a lot of lovely venues around where i live with all different prices, id rather save and do something little next year! i think lol

I think it would be nice to wait for your 10 year anniversary, that way you can save and have what you really want, or do you think you can save for in a year- we looked at venues and most for next year peak time are now fully booked.

You can look but most likely too soon to book things
