Hi i had my bridesmaid dresses delivered other day to a friends incase i was a sleep due to working nights when she dropped them off she told him not to look coz its bad luck has anyone else heard this i thought it was just the dress he couldnt see. Is there anything else he cant see. lol i dont want to curse the wedding after 10yrs together lol x

I dont think it matters if he sees the bridesmaid dresses I really hope not, as H2B helped me pick them!!
My bridesmaid dresses have been hanging up in my spare rooms for a few months.. h2b has seen them LOTS of times x

I will be showing my H2B the bm dresses to make sure that he likes them but most importantly that he likes the colour. I think it's completely fine for him to see them, as long as you dont give anything away about yours!! Which is really hard.
I've almost let it slip a few times by doing silly things like almost saying 'what do you think of that dress?' while watching 4weddings - if i did that he would know straight away that it was similar to my dress and i wanted to know if he liked it!!

Rhiannon, I done the same thing with 4 weddings, I was watching it and seen a stunning dress and said to h2b "isn't that dress gorgeous what do you think about that?" only for my mum to look at me really shocked.. soon as h2b left the room my mum went "thats your dress you silly mare".. I didn't even realise!

I was watching it with my mum and dad - luckely my H2B was not in the room and a dress very similar to mine came on, and my mum went all funny and started making faces at me!! luckely H2B was not there to see that!! hehe!!

My BM dresses arrived at the weekend and I had my girls try them on to check they it etc, so Steve saw them then - so far as I'm aware it's only my dress he's not allowed to see, and that's what I'm going with - no idea where to store it when it gets here mind, we haven't the room and there's nowhere else it can go except his parents house!

my mum is taking my dress back to her house as soon as its ready! im not allowed to have it at my house for 2 reasons. incase h2b sneaks a peek, and we have 2 dogs, and knowing our luck they will think its a new tug of war toy to play with!!! eeek!

i have also nearly pointed out dresses similar to mine to h2b! i asked him what he tought my dress would look like and he got it near enough right!! only got a few more months to keep quiet! x

My h2b has seen the BM dresses - I thought it was only the bride's dress he wasn't suposed to see? loved my BM's dresses so much I bought one for myself in a different color!
He's also seen my shoes, headband and jewellery.

Isn't the tradition that he shouldn't see your dress so that he can be amazed at how you look and thank his lucky stars that here you are in all your beautifulness walking up the aisle to marry him. Unless I've got that really wrong (?) why wouldn't he be allowed to see the bridesmaids obviously he's not supposed to feel the same about them. Bizzare!!

When my mum got married the second time, there were four or five different types of bridesmaids dresses hanging around (with 2 teenagers and 2 preteens, it's hard to get one dress to suit all, am I right?), and there was no problem, apart from typical eight year old whinging about not wanting to wear the dress xD
Marriage is still going strong after two and a half years and my mum's incessant bad moodiness, so it can't be a superstition!
Bride's dress MUST be a secret, though! ... Troublesome if I'm going to look on the Bay of E.... Maybe I should rethink my strategy! Eep! Back to the drawing board!
