a top table just for the bride and groom? my venue has a 8 seater top table and mumbled some rubbish about fire safety when i asked if it could be any bigger. we have two sets of parents each two best men 3 bridemaids 1 flowergirl plus us so were going to have probs im thinking of asking if we can just have a two seater top table what do you think?

We're not having our parents at the top table, at their own request. At the moment I've no idea what we're going to do, but they don't want to sit with us (or together) so we won't make them.

Our top table is for 14!! lol the venue hasn't said anything about it at all. We are not having any parents at the wedding at all so the table is MOH and her family, best man and his family and me and my family. But in answer to your poll I would go with pick 6.xx
oh I never thought about this, now you have set me off thinking :-( I have got loads that should be on the Top table eek my MOH is married to the BM and their daughter is a flower girl, my 2 girls are BM and my son is giving me away so I would like all of them on the top table apart, the H2B sister is a BM and her daughter a flower girls her BF is just a guest then there is H2B mum and dad :-( got 2 years to think about this one PHEW, think I will go for the 2 on the top table safe any moaning from everyone! So I vote 2 xx

We had everyone par the flowergirl and page boy (who sat with their parents) on our top table but it did up to 8 for us as I only had one bridesmaid.

We are only having a small top table and i have my bridesmaids and bestman on a table nearer to us than the others and will also do something special to it to make it look different from the rest !!

We have my parents, his parents, us and our 3 kids on the top table...........we were going to have the best man too but hes bringing his gf who doesnt know anyone so thought it would be nice for her to sit with him.
Id have a sweet heart table if i was in this situation :-)

We're having us, parents, h2b parents, best men, man of honour which makes 9. My other bm are gonna be sitting with their kids but think it will look unbalanced with 9 on the top table.

we are having our mums, as our dads are no longer here, then the best man, stand in fob, and my two sons and daughter in law and grandson on the top table, the bridesmaids and flower girls will be sat elsewhere :) x
I have know my soulmate for 27 years and on the 6th August

we have the same sort of problem, as my mum cant stand MIL2B, and MIL2B and FIL2B cant stand each other and both have new patners, so we decided to just have the BM's, bestman and ushers on the top table, my mum and dad have their own table, which will have our son and daughter on as well, MIL2N has her own table and FIL2B has his as well, that way there cant be any moaning about someone being more important than someone else, plus we named the tables so there will be no y are they on table 1 and we are on 3 lol xx

We are having 9 of us on the top table but if we wanted more it wouldn't be a problem as we are having our reception in our garden, lol. But if I was having a "proper" venue and they kicked up a fuss, then I would have a table just for me and h2b, saves leaving anyone out and upsetting someone. x

We had 16 for a traditional top table, but we are having us & 2 bridesmaids , best man and three partners on one table and all the parents on another. I have another (single) bridesmaid but she'd sitting with other people that she knows.

i didnt know thats what its called it was edited for me but i like it. our parents are all divorced my mum hates my dad my step dad hates every one my step mum is the scarlet women in my familys eyes and my htbs parents cant be near each other due to messy divorce to suprised there all going to be in the same room let alone share a table im thinking just go for the two of us at top table stops arguments between my sister bms and i know it sounds horrible but i dont want to be mummy full on for the day i want my kids involved of course but when its comes to being hands on my mums going to be there to deal with them and also i wanted a kiddie table for the children old enough to feed themselves and i was going to make up some bags as there favours with drawings etc n x
