I've booked a videographer - if thats the right term - saw them at the National Wedding Show in Birmingham last October - their DVD just made me cry so booked them their and then! If you plan to dvd/video your wedding would you tell the guests or not. Was thinking that one uncle in particular might make more of an effort if they knew, but wouldn't want my friends having to walk like they were on a catwalk all day (they are such a fab n funny bunch I imagine they would do somethign like that)!

If I were to get a videographer (I'm not for various reasons) I would want a natural record of the day- like cousin Jimmy turning up in a tracksuit because thats what he always wears. I wouldn't want people to act different.

we was going to have a videographer, but the church said no! i wouldnt have made a big deal out of telling guests cuz every wedding i've been to has been recorded and i sort of thought that was "the norm" lol :)

I've had to pay the church extra, I've never been to a wedding before thats been Videoed. Although they did mention that they were pretty discreet and not inthe guests faces - I haven't mentioned it to anyone, so I guess may be best to keep schtum!

we are having a videographer and not telling any body as want them to be natural, but am pretty sure that people will see that we have a videographer any way so not really worried lol xx

H2B's uncle did a really nice vid of H2B's gran and grandads golden wedding aniversary party a few years back and after seeing it we asked him to do our wedding.

I am also having a family member record the day as my auntie is ill and can't leave the house so I thought it would be nice for her to be able to see the day. We couldn't afford a professional as on such a tight budget, I don't think we will be telling guests as like you say people will act for the cameras and I want it to be natural not staged although I am concerned of H2B's brother ruining the big day! x

i think im going to buy a video camera and ask my cousin to film us. as u can pick up the cameras for just over £150 where as the videographer can go up to £1000+ x

...I suspect folk would be 'stiff' around the video bloke/woman initially but would quickly forget he/she was there .... then the REAL DVD gets filmed!!

our photographer (hubbys auntie) just set up a video camera on a tripod in the corner of the room, we didnt tell anyone and to my surprise no one actually noticed! so we got all the fun on film :-) i wouldnt tell your guests, for the obvious reason that they will feel like they need to perform to the camera but also they dont need to know xxx

We had 2 videographers and we didn't mention it to many people before as we didnt think we needed to - as it happens, both guys were so discreet, we received a lot of compliments for how unobtrusive they were and made everyone feel comfortable - now to see the finished masterpiece!!
