    Hello everyone,

    How are you all?

Is anyone brave enough to do their own make-up on the day?
I am going to!! I feel that make-up artists make me look like an umpa lumpa so i'm braving it all on my lonesome!

I use n0.7 foundation on a daily basis and its good but i would like something with a bit more coverage and longer lasting. My skin id red and patchy :( Has anyone tried and foundation that is really good? Ive tried all the usuals, maybelline, loreal, maxfactor, avon.

There are some make-up tutorial videos on you tube by a lady called lauren luke. She does bridal make-up aswell and i think the vids are really good!

Also any tips on applying make-up would be appreciated :)

    Thanks :)

I used to always used estee lauder double wear. The coverage is amazing and it lasts all day. The price has gone up by £1 every year so at £26.50 a bottle I can't really afford to get it anymore while we are trying to save, but would get it for my wedding if I was doing my own makeup. I might be, haven't had any trials yet to see what make up artists are like.
One tip I can think of is make sure your eyebrows are done nicely and any sparse bits filled in and blended as good brows really do improve the overall look of your face. Also, some subtle false lashes will make you look extra special for the big day :)

Hmm I wonder if I could be a scab and just go into boots and put some of this foundation on? Every long lasting foundation I have tried so far doesn't last as long as it's supposed to. And I can't afford to spend that much on a foundation if it doesn't work.

Does anyone know if estee lauder do samples or mini bottles that are cheaper?

I'm going to get some semi-permanent lashes for the wedding :)
I get my eyebrows waxed often - had anyone found a good pencil that fills in nicely without them looking hideous?? lol.

Yeah I used to go and get the little free pots when I ran out, didn't dare do it more than a couple of times though. They last a week or 2 so you could nab one of them for the wedding lol. They can apply it for you to see how you like it and you can ask to take the sample to have more of a think...xxx

ooh thats great - i may have to go for a trip to town :)

So would you need a powder over this?

Can anyone recommend a good blusher?

I really like barry M eyeliners, they are fab.

I just use rimmel eyebrow pencil in brown, it has a little brush thing on the side to blend in. My hair is black, so it's best to use a shade lighter. I think the rule is if you are blonde or light haired, use a shade darker, and if you have medium to dark hair use a lighter pencil.

No you don't need a powder over it, it's quiet matt.
I use benefit posietint, it's a cheek and tip stain. It's brill and lasts ages. But I have only started using it after I stopped using estee lauder foundation so I can't say if it they work well together! I would guess that a powder blush might be better with estee lauder foundation because of the thicker texture, but you can always experiment.

Yea I just looked on the website and they do a 10 day sample for free. Luckily for me I have 4 estee lauder counters within 10 min drive.
If that works I'll do my own make up the morning of the wedding as it's mainly foundation I struggle with.

I am doing my own make up too. I went to the french clinic make up counter and had them help me out. Its free for a consultation and they are really helpful.

I have seen Lauren Lukes videos as well. She is brilliant. U tube is a brilliant resource for tutorials.

    hello
i am also doing my own make up, as i like the way i do it lol. clinique is my 'best' foundation, i have the superbalanced one and its lovely, altho i have just tried a new avon foundation called 24k gold, its really nice and creamy and easy to apply with a foundation brush. so have the 2 to chose from atm!! have found a lovely bourjois eye shadow too - goin with silvery shades, to make my blue eyes stand out.

one piece of advice i was told from my friend who works for no 7(i too work in boots) is in order for photos to come out well, u need to have some shine/ shimmer on ur face, i always wear matt foundation but my friend suggested to use highlighter over to reflect the camera flashes.

    good luck xx
