Without sounding too stupid but can you iron satin? I'm currently making my flowergirl dresses and need to iron them so just wondered if it was ok to do so? As I know with wedding dress they say steam them :/ don't think I'm thinking very well as so worried I'm going to m so them up haha it's matte satin if that makes any difference? I'm so use to using cottons not done a satin before.

Iron them on the wrong side of the fabric .... I would also use a Cotten tea towel or something ( pillow case works )
I'd use a tea towel or something like lala has said, maybe slightly damp as well.

Thanks ladies :) I ironed on the lining today and was ok but will defo use a pillow case when ironing the front as need to do this during the make of the dress. I'm guessing as long as it's not too hot or for too long should be ok? x
You should also have a more delicate setting on your iron than cottons too so it will be cooler. I'm not sure what it would be as they can all be different but worth a go alongside the tea towel x
