Hi I've made my invites and was wondering do I put the menu in with the invite as we are having a traditional roast, but thought that if someone didnt like that they could mention it with the rsvp ? also what do you all think about the poems asking for money/vouchers instead of gifts, should I put that in too ? and what about rsvp's should I put them in too or let people go out and get their own ? the poem i have found is this one.........

We are sending out this invitation,
And hope you will join our celebration.
If to send a gift is your intention,
In modesty we would like to mention,
We have already got a kettle and a toaster,
    Crockery, dinner mats and coasters,
So rather than something we have already got,
Please give us money for our saving pot.
    But, most importantly, we request,
That you turn up as our wedding guest

    thanks xx

    Hello :)

When we went to my H2B sisters wedding with her invites she put in her wedding gift list and a thomson voucher thingy so people could choose between the gift list of buying them honeymoon vouchers.. its a good idea :) Good luck xxx

Im hoping to have the pocketfold type of invite as it can have a few inserts included with them so in mine i have.......an R.S.V.P directions and a gift poam.
Im also going to include an A-Z of our wedding (theres a thread on here with a sample of this so ill bump it to the top of the page for you so you know what im on about).

Then as we are getting married in a hotel we have done a welcome to our day booklet and in here we have the little extras like..

Front cover - Our names and date etc
    page 1- welcome poem
page 2 - A whose who in the wedding party
page 3 -Timings of the day
    PAGE 4 -The menu
Back cover - Thank you for sharing our day poem

if the menu is a set menu i wouldnt bother including it. we havnt.

with the rsvp we just put any dietary requirements please state...
and then people can write if they are allergic to anything or vegi so we can order them different.

Sorry I ended up not being able to find the thread that I was thinking about so I ended up being of no help whatso ever!! sorry bout that!

    In our invites was
    The invite
Guest info (what time to get there etc)
    RSVP and SAE
    Gift Card

    and that was it.

Usually you would also get all of this list below too - but we created a website with all that info on it so that we culd save on invites.
    Hotel suggestions
    Taxi Suggestions
Map of how to get to venue
Map of how to get to church
contact information for the wedding party

Thats all I can think of right now.

I put my info onto tags and tied them together with some ribbon. I'll post some pics up for you to look at. (poor quality pics though as I hadn't got my tripod on me and the flash wipes out everything)

We're putting the bare minimum in ours and just directing everyone to the website. No one is gonna keep all the inserts of information (or even the invite itself) anyway so might as well save on paper and cost.

I would probably keep the invite of someone's wedding who were special to me but I'd probably throw away the hotel info and menu card and all that jazz. Some people are more sentimental than others I guess!

I'm going to be doing pocket fold invites. Invite will be on the main bit then there's 3 inserts. One will have directions and a few hotels listed. the second will have the menu choices. So everyone can choose either the meat or the veggie option. Also for the kids to have half portion of adults meal or a kiddies meal. The 3rd one is the rsvp with each person on that invites name and space for their chosen starter and main course. We're not having a gift list and decided not to include a poem. If people ask then we'll just tell them we're saving for a honeymoon. x

We have a website, and the gift list asks for contributions towards different things we want in the wedding. We have already had £800 in donations. The site was free, and its easy to do. I hve put a link on my wall if you want to look at it x
