So we have finally started the invites and my lovely h2b is on the pocket folds, first night he has done 2 wrong and one is sort of usable haha, I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to crafts and really struggling not to be a bridezilla! I don't want to argue or strop over some silly invites but worried I'm going to run out of card at Thai rate! Would it be bad if I tried to do them as can see him stressing and I justwant them done lol. So I'm biting my tongue as don't want oh to feel bad as he's Just trying to help but I am concerned with how much card we have as didn't estimate a lot of paper loss x

tell him your worried and can he take more care even if he does it slower. or canyou buy more card. Remember he probably likes that he has some part in it so can say he has contributed

This is a toughie because I am a lot like you, I am very much a perfectionist but invites need to be as perfect as possible.
Can he do a different task? Like attaching things to the invites or addressind the envelopes?
I imagine he is happy to have a part and be helping in this but maybe not, ask him if he likes doing the invites? If the task he is doing is annoying him?

I said I'd like to give it a go ' to help' haha, and have managed to knock 8 out in time he did 2 lol, I'm quite crafty and he knows that so don't think he's too offended that I've started to help with them. He's very good with his hands for things like wood ect but not sure he's too much of a fan of little fiddly things, I'm glad I didn't get stroppy about them but happy that I've been able to knock a few more out as really been worried about getting them done in time, and because I wasn't involved with the pocketfold a I didn't know how long to expect but I reckon I can finish the actual pocket folds off tonight then just be sorting the inserts, and deco on it and then evening invites and everything else haha. He'll be happy to chip in with other things as we go along but think he's quite glad I've taken them off his hands as he was getting abit frustrated with them x

I was exactly the same! Except with my mum and OH on separate occasions lol. I just said I wanted to stop for the day and then have done it all by myself!

However with over 30 evening invitations still to do I'm beginning to wish I was able to pass the reigns over lol

Sometimes I think we need to take control haha. Hope your managing to get through your evening invites. I haven't even started them yet as realised I hadn't ordered the correct paper for them! Hoping for it to be delivered this week so I can crack on with them. I have finished 22 day got another 18 that are half complete as ran out of card and ink so hoping the card will arrive soon and will get some ink to finish them off asap. So happy with how they have turned out though just hope the evening ones look just as nice lol x ( have put pic in my album on the completed one)

All I can advise is have some sort of routine going, I found it easier to break the invites into sections so first I folded all the pocket folds then I did next bit and so on, so I was able to finish 22 in one night rather than have so many complete but some not even half way done, this way I only have 18 day left but they are over half way done ( crazily makes me think I have done more than I proberly have haha) I think oh was quite glad I did it as he was getting flustered but he has spent last few nights sat next to me watching TV while I did everything!! So was abit annoying at some points but glad I was abit of a control freak lol as I love them and they look exactly how I pictured them. Just need to do night ones the same lol x

I have really grounded to a holt with my evening invites! however I have managed to get five done, and handed them out and everyone loves them. My mum told me today that she gave the day invite to my aunty and she thought we'd had them professionally made! That's really cheered me up and spurred me on to do some tonight (well that's the plan, until I get home lol). I literally have all the inserts made and stuck together so all I have to do is do the front cover and the little luggage tag so I don't know why I'm not just getting on with them...maybe because subconsciously I don't want them to all be done lol But the RSVP date is 31 March so I need to get them out this weekend.

Hope your card will arrive soon, I had to make no end of trips to Ho88ycraft for my paper lol.

Good luck Celtic_Queen with your inviting making, I agree with MrsC definitely do things stage by stage as although I've come to a standstill I think I'd be even worse if I was only doing the inserts one at a time!

O no Vikki I'm dreading the night I hit a brick wall. Maybe have alook at the ones you've finished it might kick you up the bum to finish them. I won't get the card until tues :( so might start the evening invites while I wait as the evening card turned up today just need to get ink tomorrow. I'm worried if I stop I won't want to start again lol. That's lovely that your aunty thought they were professionally made, just makes all that hard work worth it. I can't wait to hand mine out and see people faces. Hoping to get some envelopes and hand them out this weekend ( the ones that are complete anyway)

Suit fitting went well we've chosen what h2b wants so just need to wait until we have enough for the deposit before putting our order in.

MoH tried on her dress this evening and so that's 4 out of 6 that have tried it on! Just my other MoH to pick hers up from the shop and I need to send my other bridesmaid gets to try on!

Oh no! I hope your finger is ok today and manage to find envelopes.

Should be able to post suit deposit in a couple of weeks which will be good.

I went to a wedding fair last weekend it was pretty rubbish but I found out today that I won a competition that I entered so have 12 cupcakes heading my way! Then will be meeting them to discuss cake and flowers in march.

Heard my aunty and two cousins have booked their flights from America so they're definitely coming which is exciting. Spent this morning doing internet searches for decorations/ entertainment to try and get an idea of costs. So a fairly productive wedding weekend even though invites aren't completed yet! X

We have couple coming from nz and we can't wait :) I managed to finish my evening invites tonight but saw that I repeated the date on them soni'm proper annoyed at myself for not noticing before I made them :( have put pic in my stationary album. Didn't realise I wasn't ment to open a new thread to ask a new question about invites and had to post it on here until I had done my second question, so Will ask here and hope people will see it ( as main reason I opened a new thread is it was a new question and didn't think most people would see it if I posted it here) but here goes

I have completed evening invites and realised I have written the date on twice as put about being invited to the evening celebration of our wedding on 16th July then says the location and then says on 16 July at 7.30! Do is need to re do the invites or just suck it up and leave them like it? Can't really justify buying all new material and has taken me nearly 5 hours to do them all!!
( photos in stationary album) please can you look and see if it sounds ok or needs re doing? As can't decide? I think it looks silly saying the date twice x

Wow I'm very impressed that you managed to get your evening invites done too!

I've taken a look and I don't think you need to re-do them all, I realised I didn't put our home address on our RSVP's and that I put "allergies" rather than dietary requirements. I was the same as you and decided I couldn't afford to buy all new materials so I've just left it. At least it doesn't say two different times so there isn't going to be any confusion.

Just think that money you would save could pay for centre pieces/table plan etc. I bet no one will notice or certainly comment.

I know the feeling, I'm proper slightly freaking out that there is only just over 4 months to go, I feel like there is still so much to do!

It is annoying me but I'm hoping once I have sent them out I won't have to think of them again haha but it is bugging me! I did get oh to look but doubt he read it and I sent photo to my mum and moh and neither pointed it out so guess it's not too bad :/ if I had longer I might of re done them but I think coz it's only 4 months and it took me just under 5 hours not sure I want to re do them lol is that bad?
It is scary it's just 4 months to go! I noticed it yesterday and thought omg that's not long at all still think it's like 2 yrs lol x

Nah it doesn't look bad and if others saw a pic of it before hand I wouldn't worry..at least you included the date, it would have been worse if you had missed it out!!

It's definitely not bad that you don't want to re-do them but that's coming from me that still hasn't finished mine! (And I have asked for RSVPs by end of March!

Have you been planning the wedding for long? We've been engaged since March 2010 but only set the date and started planning since July last year x

Ahh yes, I can't believe how quick it's coming around!

Oooo finances, I'm ignoring that part especially as we have a tiller round at the moment to do the ensuite and it's causing problems, I can just see that the money earmarked for the wedding that is coming in in the next month may be hi-jacked :(

I had all good intentions last night, started them, had dinner, then OH sat down next to me and then I just ended up chatting and watching TV instead!

Our two best men are around tonight to discuss stag do so I will busy myself eavesdropping in to their conversation whilst doing invites!

Only one bridesmaid left to try on the dress and she's coming to visit her parents tomorrow so I'm hoping to take it to her (to save postage!).

Have been getting quotes for decorations and entertainment, so hoping to be able to make that decision at the weekend as just waiting for one more quote.

Stephanie - as people above have said the checklist says around 6-8 weeks prior to wedding. However I am sending mine 4 months before as my venue wants final numbers 6-8 weeks before. I have also already sent my save the dates (I'm not getting married for 18 months) but this was as we're getting in August so I wanted people to be aware before booking next years holidays!
