Me and h2b were looking at invites the other night and found some gorrgeous cheque book style invites that are perfect for us, which lead to a discussion about who we address them from. My mum is helping with the cost but my dad's passed away and h2b's parents aren't really doing anything so we can't really address them from parents and at the same time don't want to snub my mum by addressing them just from us.
So h2b said why don't we address them from our little boy. So they would read:
Charlie Miller takes great pleasure in inviting
...................
to Mummy and Daddy's wedding!
What do you think? Cute or a bit ott?

I think you would still be overlooking your mother on this one. Me I would have a grown up approach to it and ask her if she wants her name on the invitations and if she says no I would then just put the invitations from you and your fiancé. It's ok to put your child's name on invitations if the guests are being invited to a child's party, but like someone else said it is a bit cheesey.
Without stepping on his parents toes, traditionally it was up to the brides parents to invite the guests, perhaps you could use tradition as a good excuse to solve the situation. Some guests will find the child's name on the invitations cute, some will find it cheesey, I would strive to avoid cheese if I was you.

I think it's a fab idea!!! Why go with tradition anyway?? Tradition is boring.
And, its more cute than cheese :-)

Your normally write who the invite is from depending on who's paying for the wedding.... So traditionally it comes from your parents as they paid but nowadays most bride and grooms pay for their own wedding so invite from them. If your paying for your own wedding then go for it as your choice however I think if your parents are contributing then you may need to ore-warn them as know my parents would feel pushed out.
Finally marrying the love of my life !!

We were invited to a wedding last year, where the invites came from the three sons of the bride and groom, and I thought it was adorable.
Certainly made a refreshing change.

I think its one of those marmite situations this, your guests will either love it, or find it cheesey, I'd be one of the ones that would think it was a bit cheesy, it's not my cup of tea at all. But it's not about people pleasing their guests or worrying what people think of your invites as if you are happy with it and love the idea then that's what matters
I would see what your mum thinks of the idea though, just in case
