    Hey ladies,
Im reallly confused as what to write in our invitations....What are you putting in yours?
Ive looked up some sample wording but they all look a bit dull and generic (or is that just me being bridezilla hahahha)

Hi hun. Lol, I know what you mean. There is etiquette to consider with invitation wording and also how formal your wedding will be.

If you and H2B are paying for the whole wedding then the invite is from you both. If your parents are paying the invite is from them (and if his parents the invite from them) or if it's a case of both you, H2B and both sets of parents paying (like me and H2B's situation) then word it:

With their parents, Tracey **** and Andrew ******, request the pleasure of your .............................. depending on how formal your wedding is you word it how you want really.

Put the standard, date, time, ceremony venue

Then, followed by reception at ..........

Hope that makes sense and helps a little xx

If you google "Invitation wording" you'll find some that are a bit different from the ordinary, we are paying for our own wedding so the invites I made were from us and I found lovely wording that said:

    We wish for you,
    .........., (guests name/s)
    To share with us
The tender moment of our Marriange.
We look forward to a future
That holds an ever growing love.

    At this time
    RSVP in this fashion

Just nice and simple, no formal my name, his name, his parents names, my parents names and the cats names nonsense lol.

I'm also having this problem. The invitation wording online seems a bit impersonal. We are paying for the wedding ourselves as well.

Is it you or your parents inviting? Do you want formal or informal?

Let me know and I'll add the wording I've got in my book.
