Hi everyone - this is my first time on here and in the forum, although I have been watching the site for a few days via facebook and am amazed at the ideas, and support from everyone on here !! I have to admit I have been stealing some of the ideas of others already :-)) I have just got engaged and am planning on getting married hopefully end of next year or January 2016 - as I want a really wintry wedding!! I do have an initial question about buying a dress!! Like everyone on here I am sure, I have seen the most amazing dresses that are well out of my price range - as I would rather try to spend less on the dress but have the overall wedding of my dreams! I have however seen a stunning dress on eBay - made in China!! At an absolute bargain price!! Now part of me thinks I should just order it and if I dont like it then sned it back, as the company advertises they accept returns, or should I hold out and hope that I see what I want in a shop maybe in a stock sale or something! I would appreciate any advice if anyone has ordered a dress through eBay and what experiences they have had. Thanks x

Hi Keeley welcome to the site im sure you'll love it as much as i do... speaking from experience(i bought my dress before setting a date as i thought it was the one and now am looking to sell it and buy something completely different) WAIT, in 6 months time you might want something different or something might come up to change your mind on a style/colour etc. xx

Hi and welcome! I'd deffo second waiting a little until your venues booked, when I was looking at things a year ago the dress I had chosen is totally different to the kind of dresses I'm looking at now, especially as I can picture the venue too so I don't pick one to big for the venue etc. plus when you try them on you see what's best for your body shape etc, they all look totally dicfermt on in real life!

Thanks ladies - i guess ordering online ruins the fun of spending a day in a shop trying on dresses with my bridesmaids!! Once I have venue booked I will be able to vision it properly, even though I have an idea of what I want, things change!!! Thanks everyone and what a fabulous site this is !

Congratulations and welcome to the UKBride family. I'd agree, spend time looking around for your dress, there's no rush. You might be surprised at what you like. You can also look into having a dress made. Be very careful with China dresses, the quality is hit and miss. You might get lucky and get something perfect, you might also get something that doesn't fit and falls apart.

Welcome to UKBride and congratulations :)
I would definitely wait and try some dresses on in the sops first, the one you have your eye on might not suit you or you may change your mind and not like it if you find one similar! Enjoy the experience first :)
