Was watching wedding tv this morning and seen a advert for a website which I will put the link on my wall for. I wanted your views on this site as I was thinking of getting my dress online and after reading things on the site I am not so sure now. I now lots of you ladies have got your dresses online and they have been stunning.
I am really confused as what to do now and would appreciate your views.
Thanks

This website is on all most bridal shops websites, i can understand where they are coming from, my sister bought her wedding dress online and some friends of mil2b did and they were all fine. Think the bridal shops have cottoned on to what brides are doing and are losing business but them what do they expect when some charge the earth for a wedding dress. If you have found your dress maybe ask other brides if they have used that site ??
My biggest dream is to marry my Best Friend and I can't wait
to be Mrs Herbert Whoop Whoop !!!!

I think it comes down to how much of a risk you can and want to take as I've heard both good and bad about the copied dresses and I was too sacred to take the risk so got mines from a shop. good luck in finding your dress
I would take this with a pinch of salt to some extent. I had a look at this a few months back and think most of it is done by over zealous bridal shops etc trying to protect their industry. I even saw bits where what appeared to be the people running the site (or maybe other bridal shops - i don't know) seemed to almost attack people when they said they had a good experience or thought the site was over-reacting!
What I would do however if you are interested in buying online, is look for reviews, post on wedding forums to find people that have used them etc. It's fine to check the site you've mentioned but check for comments by brides and not people in the industry. I haven't personally bought online and think it can be a bit hit and miss, and remember there will be lots of samples for sale out there and there are also ranges that are specifically aimed for lower budgets. (Not saying you have a lower budget - you are probably just looking to save money!!)

I think there going to say these things as its stealing there customers yes there are con artists out there but just because some one.sells a copy doesnt mean it going to fall apart or something it just means it doesnt have a designer label. Think they try and scare us abit and it works most of the time x

Ive just had a look at your link. I can understand that business's are annoyed and are trying to put you off as they are loosing out on profit & customers. Yes there are some good con artists out there willing to steal your cash for a cheaply/badly made dress, but this doesnt mean all sellers who sell copies are going to rip you off. To be fair its the Its the excatly the same with anything bought off the internet there will always be good and bad sellers & you'll always hear that "horror" story.. And what With the credit crunch and prices of everything going up id rather pay £350 for a copy dress than forking out over £1000 for 1 dress im only going to wear once.

Have seen this adverts loads i just think its scaremongering cos bridal shops are loosing out on sales, think if you read the Internet sales feedback you can get a good idea of how good they are, and to be fare not all bridal shops are great and you never get to see there feedback?

I considered getting my dress from eBay etc and the only reason I got it from a shop was because of the design I chose. The only complaints I've really heard from girls buying their dresses online is that the beading isn't perfect and some have had their beads falling off - the dress I chose has a lot of beading and I didn't want it to fall off as it would just ruin the dress. Another reason I didn't buy online is because the dress I have chosen hasn't been copied as of yet - or i've not found it online yet.
I think the other girls are right though, the bridal shops are just fighting back against people taking their business but they're doing it in the wrong way. Go for it honey. xxx
