We booked our venue and registrar today, so it's all become very real!
My SO and I met in an online world (we're both PC Gamers) and have some awesome inner geeks, and we've been discussing ideas, just little things, that will be awesome to us, some of our other friends who *get it* will really understand, but for those that aren't that way inclined, will see it as a nice *thing*.
We're looking at getting our PC avatars as our cake toppers - will be looking for any suggestions in the Tyne & Wear area for those - and I think I would like to walk down the aisle to The Imperial march from Star Wars and have a gorgeous royal blue hooded long cape with hood instead of a veil.
Was wondering who else has little quirky, very non-traditional things planned for their special day?

There has been a few on here who have had weddings like this. At the end of the day, it's something that is important to you, those who know you properly will understand the meaning behind it as well.

Hahaha, I read the title as inner gReek ideas so was really confuse when I started reading! Whoops!!
I think that's a lovely idea for having them in so that it shows a part of you as individuals and as a couple.
For your cake topper, they don't necessarily have to be local, can be further afield and they can post it to you. Might give you more options and better/cheaper suppliers

we had a geek wedding!
Im absolutely crap at geography, but my wedding cake lady is from rossendale, and she has been in magazines for creating weird and wonderful cakes. she's certainly alternative! she did us Alexandria Castle from FFXIV. I did initially make my own toppers, was gunna have dalek bride and groom toppers, but obviously the castle stuffed that idea up so they became the top table decs, the rest of the tables were film and tv related :)
I also made my flowers out of final fantasy strategy guides :D
