Am absolutely gutted for my h2b, three days before our big day and his family have caused all sorts of ructions, his step dad insulted him saying he wasn't a man because he hasn't paid for the whole wedding (my parents have paid a large sum of money towards the wedding , his parents gave us £50) His brother's fiancee has said it's too long a day for her so she won't be coming, and his son who is supposed to be his best man has told him he won't be the best man. This wedding has been being planned for over a year....why bloody now....AT THE END OF MY TETHER!!!! sorry just wanted a spout!!!

I think that's awful that family members are trying to get the attention from you and your wedding, think they need to stop acting like children ' man up themselves' ( who actually cares who pays for the wedding)? And get their acts together and be happy for you guys....

I can't imagine what your feeling right now. I'm sure you're fuming but if they're causing this much hassle so close to the wedding, then I would imagine their jealous.
As for his son, is he nervous about his role as best man and the speech. I would hope that it is not of maliciousness but that he's nervous. Maybe a quiet word of reassurance might help. Also if he feels pressured to say a speech, maybe you could cut that out for him.
Please try not to worry, as the others have said this is your day and you'll be a married woman this time next week. Congratulations and good luck.

That's awful, how spiteful of them !! Why have ALL of them waited until now?! Makes you wonder if they planned to drop you in it last minute, so you wouldn't have time/energy to sort it all out! Nasty. & as Kel said, who cares who pays for what?! My parents are giving us a chunk of money towards it & his mum is paying for our cake. Doesn't make anyone less of a man or woman for it !! I hope you get it sorted soon (if you want it sorted) & just enjoy your special day xx

Try your best to not let this affect you and h2b too much, I know this is easier said than done. It really is rubbish on your h2b so close to the wedding. Weddings really do put things into perspective with the people that do / dont matter. Sounds like his son is just nervous?? If you can get to the bottom of it and reassure him hopefully he'll do it. Most of all, just concentrate on having the best day ever for you two xxx

Thanks all your words really helped calm me down, with regards to his son he was told he did not have to do a speech etc but it was a definite no last night. My son who is a year younger told H2b this morning that if he wanted he was more than willing to step up into the role. H2b was very touched by this and has now made him his second best man as my step son amazingly has changed his mind!!!! I am so proud of my 16 year old son for saying to H2b, this is not about me or anyone else this is about you and my mum, if Cameron wants to be your best man then that's fine but if not I'm there for you. God i love that boy. Just wanna marry my man now!!!
