Im gunna be making my own invites, but as the wedding is like, 1 million years away, I wont be sending them anytime soon, so Im just wondering how to go about it really, would it be better to print them all off identical with a gap for the names, then handwrite the guests in when Im ready, or print it all out including the names? I'm just worried that obviously with the timescale, things could change as I was originally planning on just typing it all out, but now Im not so sure.... Im really torn, as I have appalling handwriting and don't want to ruin them, but I think it would make more sense, just wondering what the general way of doing this is?

Do you have a friend that has nice handwriting and you could pass them over to them?x

i've made the invites and saved the inserts with names on them, but i am not printing them until ready to send, just in case things change.

I printed the whole invite out including their names, and printed the envelopes in same font. But it is up to you which you prefer, if you do know someone who can do nice calligraphy writing then do 1 of each and see which you like best. Have fun making them, I did :) xx

I suppose I could have a go with a caligraphy pen, that would be quite cool! I think the more I think about it, I dont think I can be bothered having to make it all on photoshop, then have to keep changing names and printing them off... writing them in may be the way forward, either I'll ahve to practice, or find someone that can do it for me!
Thanks ladies, as ever you always help to make things seem abit clearer!

We printed ours off with a gap for the names - then bought a gel ball point pen for writing the invites and envelopes out, and had to leave them for about 15-20 mins to make sure the ink was definitely dry before folding them over :-)
So funny at the time, we took photos of our work in progress - I had all the guest addresses on a spreadsheet to tick off as I'd written the invite!

What type of style invite were you thinking of doing? We are doing chequebook style and have pre-printed the guest & local info, gift list tabs and are printing the invites themselves closer to the date just incase but I have a template for all sections if you want it let me know :-)

I actually typed the guestrs names into the main invite so all the type font was the same etc (OCD lol) all i had to do was change the names then press print each time - no biggie, Why dont you make a start with the guests who you 100% defo want to invite and see how you get on xxx

Ohhh they are lovely bridalmiss!
Im doing one that folds in, then out....if that makes sense, im crap at explaining things! with an insert that has all the info on it, as i cant find any blue card thats white on one side.
I suppose starting with the definates would be a start if I did type them all out, I still need to fully install photoshop so I can actually crack on, I know ecactly what I want in my head, its just getting it onto a working program on my pc!

We are putting information on invites, like where venue is, gift list, menu choice etc. But we are also having a wedding website where are putting a lot more information like other places to stay, map, info on venue etc etc.
