Hi all! I'm in our church choir and we had a wedding this afternoon and it was a very informal ceremony - I've never been to a weddig like it before...

Anyway... The groom was in jeans and t-shirt, the bride in a navy, pink an green summer dress and carried a little posy. They walked up the aisle together, had no bridesmaids and no best man/ushers... Now they're going for a BBQ at the groom parents house... Sounds great!
Just was a touch too laid back for me though...

That does sound kinda nice - to be honest, I think if my parents didn't have a very acrimonious divorce we would probably have a far more casual wedding with a reception at someone's house.

I would still have liked h2b to dress up nicely though....

A friend of mine did something similar....she had a registry office ceromony and then a house party after. It was a nice day, but as a guest it was pretty indistinguishable with all the birthday/Christmas/new years parties we've been at the house for, if you k ow what I mean...she doesn't regret doing it like that as it meant they could afford to buy there own house, but she did admit that she would like to have a vow renewal with all the trimmings in a few years time.

Regardless, I'm sure it was a special day for her but I agree, a touch too laid back for me xx

Sounds like a lovely, relaxed day. Good on them for having the day they wanted without feeling like they need to conform to the typical wedding day!

I'd still like to wear a wedding dress though :) x
