Hello - is it the done thing to include info sheets (hotel / travel / I dont want to mention gifts) - we have put up a webpage thing with lots of info - not sure if I should enclose a printed version with mine? Have approx 30 people travelling 150 miles or more but most of these are internet savvy.... What is the done thing?

Absoloutely!
That's what we're doing with ours, and all the directions/contact info etc, will be on a separate A4 sheet folded in half. What is not the done thing in my opinion, is to put the gift list on the actual invite. put this on the info sheet, but make it discreet.

I would still pop an info sheet in with the invitations hun so that people have it to hand and don't have to write or print anything off for themselves. If the venue is hard to find, I'd also pop a little map on the info sheet or very clear directions. General info such as hotels and maybe local places of interest (if people want to stay the day before or after) or where to get lunch if the ceremony is early afternoon would be helpful too. The gift list info should go on the info sheet, otherwise all you'll get is people calling up to ask for the list or you end up with a pile of gifts you don't want xx

Just leave the invite as exactly that-the invite. Any important information, such as directions, train stations, accommodationhotels, taxi firms, phone numbers, dress code, etc, put that in the info sheet. Like in dreamland says, a map wouldn't help. I'm sure your wedding/reception venue can supply you with a PDF you can use.

Thanks ladies!
I will put maps and some hotels and cab numbers down. Things to do in the area is a great idea as well.
I am not mentioning gifts etc nothing against anyone who does (I find it helpful tbh) but I will just let people ask us / parents what to do if they would like to get a gift.

We've a section with food options/travel directions / location hotels and b&b's on. I realise a few people live close by but there's quite a few who are living further a field so have had that put on the invite. we're not having a gift list either and we've decided we don't want to use a poem so we're not mentioning anything about gifts x
