Hi I'm new to Ukbride and new to this whole wedding thing! I have read some of the other forums and cannot believe the anxieties about dresses, venues etc.
I am not feeling any of this!!!! Am I normal????? I know I am a bit (read as a LOT) anal so I make lists (and lists of lists)! H2B has said that I can do exactly what I want which has narked me because he means it literally!!!! I think he thinks all he has to do is turn up on the day and pay for it!!!
I've seen the dress I want online so I ordered it - waiting for it to be delivered (suppose I will stress about it when it doesn't fit!), I have since read the horror and happy ever stories about doing it this way.
I know what I want the bridesmaids to wear, just needs to be ordered and I have arranged to look at a few venues. Spoken to the caterer, a family friend who has catered for my family weddings before with perfect results and seen a florist whose work I seen and liked. Church and harpist booked (anyone looking for a harpist pls get in touch with me - another friend!) and entertainment sorted. Photographer booked (family member).
When will the stress kick in? Am I missing something?? I would like this experience (the planning) to be one of the best times of my life,am I being unrealistic? I am starting to get really worried because I'm not worried! Does anyone else feel like this?

    RELAX hunni, your normal!
Everyone does things differently some stress at the little things some stress at the big things. Others stress from day one of planning then there are the ones that stress at then end, sometimes not till the DAY!!!
Just because your not stressed doesnt mean your not normal or have anything to worry about!!!

My first wedding I was completly calm and didnt even get nervous or stressed the whole way through, not even on the day and i did everything in 10 months!
When I joined here and read all the stress stories i did think ohhh my time will come or im not normal cause no stress for me, even this time when i have alot longer to plan and im actually on my 3rd date and NOPE still not stressed lol.

RELAX you will either be stressed later or you wont, either way ENJOY the planning, it sounds like your very perpared and have everything in hand so ENJOY!!!!

Getting married next April and yes I'm like you I am excited. I gave my sisters and MOH pretty little notebooks to jot their ideas in with instructions 'to keep it simple'. When we get together over a glass of wine - read as couple of bottles! ;0) I take on board the stuff that appeal to me and reject the rest. It seems to work so far and everyone feels involved.

If the wedding's not for a while then it could be for that reason, I was quite happily going through all the lists and not feeling much of anything untill I hit a snag, a problem with our venue, and now it's all very real!
Wouldn't say we stress all the time though, if you think about the amount of B2B and G2B on here, I'm suprised there isn't more!! lol

Our wedding is at the beginning of November and we still have quite a bit to sort out - and I'm still not stressing too much lol. Had a minor stress about cost and paying for it all a couple of months ago and that's been about my lot :)

I didn't get really stressed at all. There were small moments, like when MIL threw a wobbly about her outfit two days before, and our florist moving overseas, but generally it went very smoothly with very little stress.

I cant say I am that stressed yet... the only thing I am worried about is the seating plan; the top table, as all our parents have devorced and re married. I need to think of an inventive way of putting everyone in a place they will be ok with.....

Hi Oct12bride86, at my sister's wedding put our parents at the top table (brides father next to bridegrooms mother and brides mother next to bridegrooms father) their now significant others were placed on the table nearest the top table with the bridesmaids. Worked a treat but they are all quite friendly with each other anyway. I am thinking of doing that with mine.

I wouldnt trust my inlaws to behave once the alcohol started flowing lol. They might end up fighting plus I would feel awful splitting people up from there partners.

Ours aren't, at the moment sitting on the top table, just our kids and us!
And Oct it's only for the meal and formal bit with speeches then everyone/tables all move and mingle! lol xx

We are having the formal bit about 5pm so everyone (including me) will have a fair amount of alcohol down them lol. I like the idea of me, H2B and the kids. Would be a small top table (4)

I'm getting married on the 27th Aug this year, 3 and a half weeks, and I don't feel excited, stressed, nothing! It's really bugging me after all the planning etc I want to feel something but, it all feels surreal like it's happening to someone else! I think it could be that I was so organised that I have nothing left to do :o( xx

I was the same - 6 months from proposal to I Do and my catchphrase was "meh". No stress, no hassle, no worries, really. As long as me and him turned up, nothing else mattered.

Everyone has said to us how relaxed the whole weekend was and how much fun they had - and so did we!

    Just enjoy it hon :)
