Gems, Im a bargin hunter lol, booked the venue back in oct 2011, I got the photographer at a wedding fair as he had an offer on that day no1 could have refused. Iv booked my transport (great price again) got my dress, As i started planning so early it seems to just fall into place. Im also doing alot of diy projects myself, But I still need to do a lot of work on them, but if it cuts the cost il do it lol. U should go to a few wedding fairs there great and all the stalls always seem to have offers on.

Thanks everyone, Gems i got my table plan idea from a wedding fair, The lady wanted £60 without decs or £100 with decs... So i thought i would just make my own. It will only cost like £10 lol. (Its real easy to make) My flowers for the bridesmaids worked out to about £10 each bouquet, I have seen some bouquets like mine for like £30 each on the internet. My buttonholes worked out to about £1 each Instead of £2.50, My bouquet cost about £25 Instead of like £95 i was quoted, These were all quite easy to make. If you see the bridesmaids tiara pic they were £2 each off the net and the socks i got for 19p a pair at a wholesalers, best bargin so far. I love saving money lol.

Oh wow, so I literally just started a discussion because I couldn't work out how to comment and then I saw this thread where there was only 15 comments and actually scrolled all the way down and have finally found the comment box! Thank you! I'm soooo excited! Especially now knowing it's a month earlier than I realised hehe. And congratulations to you too! I just looked at your pictures and they are amazing! Incredible all the diy you've done! Absolutely love the theme! Ours is pink and gold with birdcages and rose petals :) I was in Cambridgeshire this weekend for a wedding, absolutely beautiful church and a simple but sweet reception - guess the lovely area helps!

Yes I actually got my dress like a month or two (got engaged december 30th), really didn't expect to, only went to look to get in the wedding mood! We only started planning properly a few days ago because I'm in uni and had a dissertation and exams to do. We managed to get a dream reception venue in Windsor for much cheaper than it ought to be because it's a friday in march! Maybe the queen will pop in since the castle is opposite :P How involved has your H2B been in planning? Does he help with the DIY?

Wow, thats great catherine It sounds amazing. H2b lets me plan everything lol, He is only helping to build a candy cart, The wood letters and hearts, i just outlined what i wanted cut and my dad cuts them for me. Think id chop my fingers off lol.

I definitely need to take a leaf out of your book hun! I am trying to make things myself to save money but think i need to shop around a bit more and get better deals. I really wanted real flowers for everything but after getting the costs i think i will make my own centre pieces and button holes maybe.

Hi gems i know this is bad but iv tried on over 30 dresses in different shops(mostly on my own), i started to think i just really didnt like wedding dresses at all. I then was shopping on my own one day and spend 3 hours in a shop only to realise i didnt like the 2 i was looking at at all, so i went in another shop round the corner not expecting to find 1 of course and she asked my style and pulled a dress down from the rails and sat it on the floor( its massive lol) and i knew looking at it i would love it so i tried it on and brought it i dont need fittings as it comes in like 10 12 14 so i wont see it now until they order it in to the shop before my weddingxxx
