Welcome hun .... dont worry you are not doing it on your own anymore , we have quite a few girls whos h2b are in the forces ... i did organised two ceremonys for my wedding and only saw my hubby for 11 weeks in the 19 mths run up !!
Welcome Rebecca :) Firsty... My advice would be, make sure you have fun, you have plenty of time so don't overwhelm yourself because you're just going to give yourself unnecessary stress way too early. Have you figured out who your bridesmaids are yet or if you're having any? or do you have family/friends nearby who can help you find venues etc to your liking?
Set yourself targets, for me I did (in this order) Venue Photographer Save a Dates (if you're doing them, you don't have to but it's good for anyone needing to travel) Caterer Humanist Celebrant I also have my dress but that was complete luck.
I've operated on booking one thing a month or so, so I can concentrate on it. If you're good with excel make yourself up a spreadsheet or there are checklists you can find online.
We're also all here if you want to ask feedback on anything.

I used the site to look up venues, and requested quotes/brochures before deciding which ones to visit.
I'm doing most of planning without OH we just discussed the big stuff like venue and church together, visit the wedding shows too, it's a great day out and you'll come away with lots of ideas and inspiration (my sister has banned me from going to any more incase I come away with purple oompaloompahs and performing flamingoes or something)
Mostly...have fun doing it, set up a scrap book of things you like and go through it with your man so he can see what you're looking at and tell you if he likes it.

The thing that I would recommend is keep a notebook handy were ever you are you can write ideas that pop into your head in it instead of trying to remember them later.
After 7 years and 11 months he proposed to me 18.10.13
Our son is 5 years old and our world
Getting married 15.08.15.
Life hasnt been easy but we have each other :)

Hello, welcome to the UKBride family. You'll be fine, you've got lots of time. At this stage you only really need to be getting your venue organised, although it's a good idea to deal with other things that can book up early, like photographer, car, entertainment. Definitely use the QuoteMe tool on here, I found my photographer that way and got a discount because I'd got him through UKBride. Can you get your mum and/or bridesmaids together to go dress shopping? That's the one thing that you can do while your H2B is away.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
