Hi girls; I have just joined this site and am loving it already there are so many fantastic tool's and forums which have already answered many questions. I have only recently got engaged (13/02/2010) and have been flicking through sites for inspiration. We have set our date 28/09/2013 and would ideally love a purple and white themed wedding. well we started looking around venues in march, but only just booked the venue last week, posting cheque to car company on tuesday (but they're holding the date for us) the things you need to do first is things that can only do one wedding a day ie. church/registrar, venue, cars, photogrpaher. things like flowers, cake, decorations, although equally important there is not so much rush to get those done. going dress shopping in june :) i see your getting married in 3 years, some places don't take bookings that far in advance so best to ask around a bit xx

I see; i bet your so excited, many family members and friends have told me too look around and book next year as you get that year's price and your guaranteed to get the venue you'd like. Is this wise do you think? I feel like i have forever to wait for my 'big day' but i need to pay off my student loans and finish my studies so i wanted to get married on a clean slate with no overhanging bills. I'm going to start buying little table decorations etc soon as thats another weight off my mind and will give me chance to focus on the big things such as dress/cars/venue. xx

Hello hun and welcome to the site and congrats on your forthcoming wedding! I agree that the earlier you book the better! Gives you plenty of time to pay the venue off etc! I would first decide on numbers, then look at venues! You need to decide what you are after ie, church, civil ceremony! And then to be honest, the rest starts falling into place..
