Woohoo! A GROOM! Congrats to you and Katie and welcome to UKBride! I don't think it's that men aren't interested in their wedding day, I think it's more that us women have been dreaming of this day for as long as we can remember. All those times we dressed up as little girls and pretended to walk down the isle with mum's net curtain over our head etc. It's our princess day and we've been planning it in our heads since we first saw Charlene and Scott on Neighbours (if you're old enough to remember that)! Will be great to have a male perspective on things :)

Ooooo its great to see a man on here. I've seen a few sign up but none that have been brave enough to actually come on the forum. I think its great that you are on here and you will get loads of money saving tips which is always good in the man's eyes lol. You do realise that we will bug you with loads of questions now. For a start: What are the best parts of a wedding from your point of view? Would you tell your bride if she wore a dress that you didn't like? Would you say yes to your bride just to make her happy on her big day even if you didn't like it?

My OH can't come on here, he'd find the threads saying what im getting him as a wedding present, and it has to stay as a surprise! 1. The best part of the wedding from my point of veiw, is getting married to the person you love... Everything else is superficial. Its great, but all that matters is that you love each other and want to spend the rest of your life together. So The cermony is the best part in my eyes.
2. I don't care about what dress she wears, as long as she likes it and is comfortable in it. Its her dress, I LOVE HER FOR HER.
3. I would tell her what i thought, but i definately wouldnt say i didn't like it whatever she wore, as above.

Yeah that helps no end to know that men see it totally different from women and of course you are going to be bombarded as its great to see things from a male point of view. I have to agree that I've not got that excited about all the trimmings and just can't wait to be my h2b's wife. I'm so proud of him. I just hope that I make all his dreams come true.
OK here comes the next one. I'm thinking of giving my h2b a personal photobook on the morning of the day with photos of all his family wedding photos, new births, us together etc as well as a letter telling him what he means to me etc. Do you think that is alright for a man or is it too soppy? What would you like to have on the morning of the wedding from your w2b?

How about asking her mum what kind of jewelery she is wearing on the day and see if she will help pick out a nice bracelet or something for her? I would also say if you are going to buy her something it would be nice to have something personal so get either a card with some of your reasons for loving her in it or even making her a cd up of special songs. Just something to show her that you have put some thought into her. Anyone can go to a shop and buy something but to put some special words onto paper or doing something with thought in will bring a happy tear to her eye.

Welcome Dan........are you sure that you can cope with all us bridezillas moaning about weight gain, venues, dresses, shoes, makeup hair etc?? lol.
Hope you find some useful imformation about what style of dress will suit you and how to have your hair on your special day
