We were talking earlier and the subject of winning the lottery came up and I realised I wouldn't actually want to change our date.. For a few reasons really.. One being my bro is getting married next month and I wouldn't want to get married only a few months after him, as I'd still want a summer wedding.. Second is that the date feels perfect.. We wanted 13th June 2015 but it wasn't available so we chose 4th July and I know now that the original date never felt perfect to me, but this one does :-) Third is that I'd want to get our extension built / get a brand new house built before the wedding so we could start TTC sooner after the wedding :-)
So, would you change your date if you all of a sudden got enough money to pay for your wedding there and then ? Xxx
I can't wait to become his Wife :-)

I wouldn't. I mean, if I did change it, it would only be by a few months, nothing major. x

No I don't think I'd change the date; I'd probably just get more things for the wedding or buy a house dependent on how much was won :)

Yeah I would, i'd do it this year instead and on our anniversary but money won't allow so i will carry on planning for next year. I would probably help my 2 sisters that are engaged to have their weddings too and buy a new house, car and have a holiday. Would make student life a lot easier too!! But i am happy with the date we have, i can tone up and grow my hair a bit too. I just keep telling myself good things come to those who wait! :-) xxx

Yeah I'd pay for my brothers honeymoon and give them plenty of money to blow in Las Vegas :-) I'd pay their mortgage off too xxx
I wouldn't change my date either! But I would certainly go all out and have EVERYTHING I wanted that we can't afford now lol. The sky would be the limit! :D

I wouldn't change the date but as the other have said I'd go all out in the wedding
CommentAuthorDonnaH39
I'm the same, wouldn't change the date but would have everything we wanted and the best honeymoon ever!
I think you have to enjoy the planning process as well, I like the count down, we have 18 months to go, it would be terrifying if all of a sudden we have 6 months to go instead
CommentAuthorMarrying.Ryan
I wouldnt change the date, but change the venue and everything!!!
CommentAuthorCh4lky
Only by bringing it one day forward so it would be on our anniversary, and I'd go all out on the wedding and the honeymoon. But first I'd buy me and H2B his n hers matching X6's haha priorities girls! x

I'd do it this year instead of next - and I would change loads of the wedding, starting with the venue - but not my dress :)

If I came into money I wouldn't change a thing about our wedding, everything's been done the way we wanted it's a small intimate wedding (only 35day-50night) and by keeping it small we've been able to do everything we wanted. What I would do which would be a better use of the money is go out and buy a portfolio of properties and rent them all out. Up here for thinking as they say lol x
CommentAuthorbarbie86
Not at this stage, no, as we've only got 6 months to go and still have a lot to do.
If it was 18 months plus out, and all our friends and family could make the new date, then we probably would have done, depending on how much money we're talking (ie if it would be enough for us to move out, too).
We've been together for over 8 years and just want to be married already!
CommentAuthorprincesspixie
i'd do it this year instead of 2016 and i'd have ALL the things i wanted but decided i couldn't have purely because of money... think i might be a lottery ticket now :) xxx

I alsways wanted to get married on our 10th anniversary and that's what we're doing so definitely wouldn't change the date. I'd use the money towards the honeymoon and paying off the mortgage and then probably keep a modest amount in the bank and put the rest towards our retirement fund.

im not sure i think i would prob keep the date but just go all out and get everything that we wanted and have all our family with us rather than just half and everyone is evening xx
Can not wait until I marry the man of my DREAMS

If I suddenly had a huge amount of money, I would move my day forward to the same date in 2015 instead of 2016 which would actually make our day a saturday wedding instead of a monday. I don't think I would change anything though. It would just be that my budget for the things I want would increase so instead of saying I can only afford to spend £150 on each BM dress I would just buy what ever the girls liked, I wouldn't worry about the cost of our photographer, I would book out the hotel and give my fa\mily and friends a room each for the night of and the night before. BUt the actual day I don't think I would change any of the ideas that I have as they are perfect to us now xx
CommentAuthorMrsH-2B
I'm the same, I wouldn't change anything about our day.. I love all our ideas.. H2B could spend whatever he wanted on the cake, I wouldn't worry about how much our rings are going to cost, or the honeymoon.. I wouldn't have to worry about how much to spend on my MOH's dress.. I'd add the album to our photography package and extend her time with us.. So much I wouldn't have to worry about money wise lol..

Nope I would keep the date but would change a lot about the wedding! I always wanted an intimate wedding but with h2b being Greek his family is huge so we ended up with 150 guests on the day list! Because of paying for them to come it has meant that I had to give up my dream venue and a lot of other things that I wanted (just glad I could hold on to my church! At least I got what I wanted for the most important part of the day!). Other than that I would also buy a house and maybe buy a holiday home somewhere hot! xxx

Nope, we choose our date because it was significant, and if we had it this july I would not be confident in everything being planned perfectly.

I think if our wedding were further away, I might bring it forward a bit but to the same date (hoping that the 7th June therefore landed on a Friday or a Saturday). If not, then I would keep it as it was and just work on getting ourselves set up in a new home, and I would still be thrifty money wise in planning the wedding, and most likely splurge on a wonderful honeymoon to remember!
CommentAuthorSandyG83
only thing i would change is having a honeymoon sooner and maybe a little extra on my dress. we couldn't really make ours sooner as we have a few family coming from out of the country so they need time to get money for flights etc.
CommentAuthorRachelE118
If I came into a few thousand I'd keep the date and everything else but take over a hotel/country house so everyone could stay all weekend.
CommentAuthor*KelBel*
We've had this discussion too, well not so much about the date but h2b said if we won some money would I change the venue ... And I said I wouldn't, even with money there's still quite a bit of planning to do and I still love our venue regardless so would still have it there and we chose our date because of the non height of summer thing so we would just leave it as it is x

We wouldnt change our date, considering if we did we would have just under 2 months! We want our anniversary date. so next year it is.... however what we would do is... Buy a house Get me driving buy matching 67 chevy impalas (we both want one but he wouldnt let me drive his so i would need my own lol) pay our debts have a better honeymoon without worrying about spending money buy new furniture (upgrade our 2nd/3rd hand items) buy new wardrobes (i have one pair of jeans without holes) set h2b up in his own business grow my business
buy a few houses to rent out for our retirement fund
