We are getting married in January and I was just wondering if any of you have any ideas or finishing touches to our winter wedding! We are fully prepared for the fact that the weather may be absolutely awful! So here is my list of winter wedding ideas/finishing touches so far....... buying a couple of pretty white umbrellas from the bay-the photographer already has a few buying those blue plastic shoe protectors! I have bought little marabou fur capes for the bridesmaids I am still looking for something for me to cover my shoulders, any ideas? I am putting one of those toiletry hampers in the ladies and will definitely be providing hair spray, my guess is that it could be pretty windy! Our colour theme is a burgundy/claret theme so nice and warm! We are going to ask the venue to keep the Christmas decs up as they have beautiful fairy lit garlands all around the fireplaces and wood panelling. We are going for candelabras for the centre of the tables as I think the lit candles will be fab but haven't really had any inspiration for the flower arrangements on them? Possibly mulled wine? Hot chocolate with baileys after guests come in from the photographs? Should I ask if the fire could be lit or do you think this might be dangerous?!
I am a big fan of all those little tiny things that you can add, so if you have any other ideas please let me know! And if there are any other winter wedding brides who have some handy tips or any one with past experience -share them!!! xx

As for the rest we are having hot chocolate for when we have photos so that sounds fab too, im not a fan of the blue shoe protectors myself so I personally would have some fab wedding boots or even a pair of wellies? would make fab pictures.

My umbrella is red to go with my colours so I stand out lol and the bridesmaids ones are white. Maybe you could give out christmas crackers at the same time as your hot chocolate? but make them so they are in your colours and put a love qoute inside them to make them a bit more weddingy! (I have 100 as I am putting them in the favours so if you want a copy let me know) As for your candlebras there are loads of ideas on google heres some

wow, hails has thought of everything!! I love the idea of having mulled wine, but i'd have hot chocolate aswell because a lot of people don't like mulled wine. I think having the fire lit might be a bit dangerous with everyone drinking and kids around, but the rest of your ideas sound lovely :) xx

Hails has thought of everything! Maybe you could get some han warmers? They are really cheap and will be great to warm everyone up while the phoos are being taken :) You know its sods law that you will be so prepared for awful weather that it wil be cracking the flags! lol!

how about supplying those heel things that stop you sinking into the mud or possibly buying some cheap claret sheets your guests can stand on while photos are being taken so they don't ruin there shoes, those blue things are great but not so much for heels thats all

We get married last Saturday in november and again we're preparing for bad weather lol decided to have mulled wine for arrival drinks. I've decided to opt for a pashmina as looked like a right wally when I put on a srug/shawl and a jacket really wouldn't suit my dress. I love the idea of the wedding boots :) x

We are having an October wedding and to be honest i havent planned for any weather as you never can tell what we are going to get! Think i am just going to keep my fingers crossed and if the weather is awful in the weeks running up to the big day then a few last minute rainy day items may be needed! I really hope it stays nice for all our wedding days :)

I think a hot drink option is a fab idea as it'll be cold. And to be honest - even at summer weddings at about half way through I could usually murder a cup of tea! lolx.
