Hello ladies,

I'm new to this I'm getting married abroad and have 33 guest going with us. I want to get them a little favour but don't want to do the usual sugar coated almonds. What is everyone doing? Xxx meg

Cheap and easy to do, but i'm imagine heavy for a suitcase to get abroad.
You'll need something light and small.
Small handmade felt cushions perhaps? With Bridesmaid on, or Usher on for the special people and the date on for everyone else?
Or seeds are popular, buy some seasonal seeds, and put them in your own decorated paper bag with your wedding fate, with your colour scheme ect

I bought 40 purple bags and stuffed them with cream tissue paper. They'll have tags on them with the date and our names. There won't be almonds in them because of numerous family members with nut allergies so I'm still stuck on that.

What's your budget for favours? There are some fantastic ideas online, small metal cages, paper boxes, mini cakes, small beauty bags, many many more!

Haven't really got a budget due to the fact of going abroad, I can't have too much weight as believe it or not the airlines don't always give u extra weight for wedding attire. I've got four children which I'm going to get them a little car or teddy bear plastic case and fill it with sweets, but stuck of the adults. Xx

we are going with a mix of help for heroes and stand up to cancer pins as they are the charities most important to me and OH and our families and we are going to pin them to the name cards. Most charities do pins so its the kind of thing that is light, wont go out of date etc is relatively easy to do and means something to you. Also means you are donating to charity- it will make me feel a little better about how much money im spending when i know that at least a little part goes to charity :)

How about scratchcard wedding favors? I think you can them designed so a couple of people win a little prize? Bottle of wine or something.

Or lottery tickets, every adults gets a health lottery ticket?

Different, and they'll certainly thank you if they win a couple of quid!

I saw an advert for Cancer Research pins and said to myself i'll look into that but never got round to it, so i think i'll do that now!

thanks lauren, i think it was actually the first thing i decided for my wedding because i love collecting pins anyway and wish i could donate more to charity in general. also me and OH both come from army families (he has just joined himself) and we have both lost people we love to cancer so it seemed the ideal choice, plus the blue from both charities co-ordinates with our colour- just a happy coincidence that tho :P

Ahh that is such a nice idea Bryony. I know in Greece (I don't know where you are going), Guests can play the greek lottery and can cash it in up to a week after. You could just get little organza bags and put love hearts in them or I saw a company where you can get sticks of rock made with your choice of colours and it has yours names in the centre of the rock. I'll pop the link on your wall if I can so you can have a looksee :)
