Hi there, I'm looking for ideas for wedding favours. I don't want to do the usual almonds, I was thinking handmade, It makes sense money wise plus its more personal I think. I'm leaning towards homemade soaps. What do you all think?

Mines lace and buttons, vintage feel and we're giving homemade jams which I'm gonna attempt n see what they taste like before I make a decision on that one.... Or little wrapped bath bombs for women and a sample fragrance for men which I sourced for £1 each, I don't a wanna spend a lot on favours,I'd rather spend a bit more for the gifts for ppl that are a part of our wedding x

I'm making organza bags filled with homemade scottish tablet and macaroon for all my guests and then little favour boxes with bath bombs for ladies and lottery tickets for the men. The bath bomb were only £16 for 80 1inch on the bay!

We had little boxes make from that shiny hard carboard with a bride and groom on the front, marriage vows on the inside cover and we put inside a tube of lovehearts and 2 rock candy sweets with lovehearts in them
I really did marry my Mr Wright and we had a nice day for a
Wright wedding!
Mexico for our first anniversary

Getting married a few days after Easter Monday, gone keep it really simple and cheap and have a bag of mini eggs in little organza bags. Everyone loves mini eggs. Sits close to Easter, and costs less than £30 for 80 favours. I thought of making things but by the time I've bought boxes, jars and ingredients I thought my mums idea of mini eggs was fab

H2B and I didn't want to do any "usual" favours which most people don't appreciate and they all get left on the table at the end of the night. So we decided instead to make a donation to Cancer Research UK, we get sent cards saying a donation has been made on their behalf to cancer research so each guest will have one of those at their place at the table. It means a lot to us and I've lost a couple of uncles to cancer and H2B lost his mum to cancer. It just felt right to do it. As I'm Chinese we'll be putting the cards in a Chinese red wedding packet (envelope - like the ones you get given at Chinese New Year but these are wedding ones with the double happiness character on them) then for the "money" we're putting gold chocolate coins in them. We just felt we'd rather the money was spend on something that could help make a difference rather than on stuff people would just leave behind and get thrown away.

i luv the charity idea InDreamland, and I've been considering something similar.
I think favours are much better if they are personal, makes the guests feel more appreciated especially if its a big wedding xx

Thanks hun. We chose that specific charity due to what it means to us both, especially H2B. It just felt like a perfect way to remember his mum and have something there for her, of course she should be remembered and mentioned in the speech but this is our way of doing something for her xx
