I've been feeling a bit fed up with all the samey samey bouquets I see. I love David Austin roses but I just want something small as I'm quite short. I came across a picture online that I've completely fallen in love with, of a feather bouquet. This is exactly what I've been looking for and would like to try doing it myself if possible. Does anyone know what kind of feathers you use for such a bouquet? Have a look at the link I've posted to see what I mean. I think I could have a single David Austin patience rose in the middle? Gorgeous...hope you think so too. If anyone knows of any good sites for a bouquet like this I'd love to know. Thanks x

Aurora - your Brooch Bouquet is fantastic!! ive started collecting Brooches/Buttons/Earrings to make mine. Ive started making the bouquets for my Bridesmaids and Im making these from just buttons and hopefully will be doing buttonholes also! Theres loads of ideas out there and the Bay of E has been fantastic for bits
Dots - if you go to your local market or Haberdashery or maybe Hobbycraft you should be able to look at different feathers and take it from there xx

My bouquet - crystals
Not the same, but with getting married abroad, I decided that I wouldn't have real flowers (also wanted something a bit different). So my mum made me a bouquet of crystals a teeny blue silk flowers in our colour. I think it's beautiful! Hx

Heather, that is just so beautiful! Do you know if it is something that can be done by a beginner? I really want something different to the usual bouquet. It's not that I don't like flowers, I adore them, and will definitely be having some DA roses at the reception. But for the bouquet - it has to be something that is very me and I absolutely love your crystal bouquet. Gorgeous....x

I made ribbon roses for the top of my cake and they would work really well as a bouquet. They are so easy to make and you can soon learn how to make them using u tube. You could even get the ribbon to match your cake and every thing else too! The cake isn't perfect cause the hubby and I made it ourselves but it gives you the idea. Oh and the flowers I had were foam roses.

Well, my mum had never done that before, so I guess that classes her as a beginner! She really enjoyed doing it too. I know you can buy them, but when mum was looking for inspiration, she said that they started at about £150! That's way more than she payed for the materials, so it's probably best to make it yourself (or ask my mum LOL)!!! Hx

when i got married the first time i didn't want bouquets for my bridesmaids i wanted something different. i came up with the idea of them having fans( good job too as it was 29 degrees on the day), when my now ex mother in law went to spain she found some nice white ones, and i added some flowers and ribbon that were the same colours as the flowers in my bouquet, they looked really good.
cant wait to marry the man of dreams 18/5/2013
The first time was a rehursal, this time its for life.
