    Hi all,

I'm looking at sorting a 'minimoon' for a long weekend after the wedding (getting married on a friday) but have no clue where to go? I'm not looking for anything too extravagant (we are asking for holiday vouchers as gifts which we will put towards our 'proper' honeymoon to Thailand later in the year) but want something a little special as it will be our first time away as Mr and Mrs. Open to all ideas UK and abroad so if anyone has been anywhere nice recently they can recommend let me know.

    Basically I'm stumped....please help!

If I was to have a minimoon I'd hire a cottage in the middle of no where and spend a weekend doing nothing but enjoy my husbands company. BUT I would make sure there was a pub near by ;-) x

My friends done the same thing recently, I will contact her and find out where she hired hers from as it was very cheap. They are off to Thailand next week so they wanted something cheap and cheerful just to get away after the wedding.

Another place I'd go for is Prague, that's pretty cheap for a weekend and not a long flight so nice for a few days xx

Ye i was thinking that sort of area of europe if i was to do abroad....was kind of thinking Krakow in Poland as that is where my Dad's Dad's (we don't call him grandad lol) family orginate from and people who have been said it is beautiful. Cottage idea is very appealing though.

Your friend is doing the same as me, minimoon and thailand....great minds think alike hehe x

We're doing the same too!! Minimoon and then Sri Lanka and Thailand for the proper honeymoon :-) We're looking at going to a spa hotel for a couple of nights, there's some really good deals for about £180 pp and that includes breakfast, lunch and dinner and 2 treatments. Think it'll be a lovely way to relax and spend some time with the hubby :-) xx

Well i've decided a long weekend in Krakow Poland is probably the best idea. Done a wee bit of research and found a nice hotel with very good reviews and doesn't seem ridiculously over priced so tis looking good!

Thanks for your help guys, will keep you informed x

Ye think we're looking at 2-3 nights in krakow in poland then round about this time next year in thailand. Only get 4 weeks holiday so prob end up taking unpaid leave for some of it.

Not planned tht far ahead tweedwedding. Prob Phuket and a couple of other places H2B is a professional Muay Thai fighter so wants to go to a fight camp while we're there, I'll be heading to the spa lol.

I was thinking Paris or Italy but tis a tad expensive these days. Eastern Europe is just a gorgeous and alot cheaper, plus my family on my dads side originate from krakow so will be nice to go back to my roots, so to speak.

Tweedwedding...with you there! we're asking for holiday vouchers instead of wedding gifts as we already live together and don't need anything else so we will have to see how far those go
