get the gems from the bay. look for acrylic crystal in 3, 4 and 5mm don't go any smaller as it's really too difficult to use them. the best glue i have used is gemtac. no shrinkage to the shoes and doesn't discolour the crystals. use a mix of clear and AB as they react to the light differently and look amazing
top tip: use a cotton bud to apply them. lightly lick the tip of it and the crystal will stick to it and you can place on the glue. don't use tweezers. they ping EVERYWHERE!!! lol
ps be prepared to bling up everything you own!! it's addictive!! lol

ps again don't bother spending more on real crystal (glass) ones or the hotfix crystals. far more cost effective to use the acrylic ones and glue. less time too!! hotfix are good for clothes, but shoes just need gemtac and flat backed crystals

I think I might have to have a go at this. I'm gonna wear plain flip flops for the wedding but I could bling up the strap which would be cool. I do worry that I'll bling everything though. Poor dog is wearing a cone on his head at the moment and I keep thinking it needs bringing up to make it look cool!

I used 2,3,4 & 5mm on mine tried e6000 made crystals cloudy so bought gem tac and works perfect (although I prefer e6000, I think gemtac is too watery for my liking and takes longer to dry than the e6000) Get a cotton bud take the end off and stick some blue tac on! wallah! Easy crystal pick up tool! I HAD to use the 2mm I dont like gaps and found them easy to use with the blue tac stick.
