Then I don't understand why he thinks it would be detrimental to have the extra bridesmaid.
I wouldn't necessarily go all bridezilla on him, but unless he has serious reason not to have her (i.e. the extra bouquet would topple the budget or she's the most likely to get drunk and punch the officiant!) he shouldn't be dictating to you how many bridesmaids you have either.

please dont hate me but I'm going to disagree with the other ladies! I personally think that 4 adults and 2 girls is plenty of bridesmaids - but it does depend on your venue and how many guests you're having. If you're getting married somewhere really opulent and grand with lots of guests then it will probably look great but if its a small venue and short guest-list then it could end up looking a bit overkill! Sorry if you dont agree, dont mean to offend anyone :o(

in which case I would have thought you can get away with another one :o) you see I've gone a bit overboard, I'm having 2 adults and 2 teens and a flower girl but we're only having 40 guests in the day! lol. I wanted my sis and best friend but adam really wanted his 3 cousins so I ended up with 5! i dont mind, but its been a nightmare trying to get something to fit them all! haha
