Rebecca why don't you call the Dean during the day and tell him you are from the local paper and have had contact from students complaining about the behaviour of other students etc.. Tell them that you will be running a story about it and could you arrange an appointment to get his side of the story!!
I bet they would soon sort something then!! Ive done it before, blag them into thinking your someone your not! It may just be a gemini thing, we are very good at this sort of thing (its the twins ;o) lol)

Laura im sorry your going through this! Do you really give a damn about their rules? Cos it seems they don't insist on the rules being adhered to so forget the fact that your OH can only stay over a couple of nights and have him stay over a lot more! What are they going to do about it? If they have the nerve to complain to you about it, tell them you will abide by the rules when they start dealing with the trouble makers!
I wish you was at Portsmouth Uni cos I would be there like a shot! Can you get into their room? Cos I would be taping a fish right under their bed ;o)

the same thing happened to me and i caused the supervisor all sorts of hell until he sorts it - my flatmate was a total prick and even puked outside my door one night - try waking up and stepping in that! this was my final move before they moved me to another empty flat in the same complex - i packed up all of my things (everything in boxes) and took it all to their offices and camped outside til they sorted it. Failing that, cause i had 6 friends helping me carry my stuff out, just take your overnight things, duvet and pillow and go camp on their doorstep, took them an hour before i was moved somewhere else! that and crying hysterically in his office! chances are you aren't being paranoid, boys are poo-faces about things like that. I agree call the police straight away, say you feel threatened by a group of lads in your building and are too afraid to leave the house (do you have en-suite - cause if you are afraid to go to the bathroom, taht helps too) dont call 999 call the local police office on their non-emergency line so you cant get done for wasting police time :)
here's another idea - are you the only girl in the flat, either becuase everyone is on holiday or if thats the usual make up of the flat? call the police and report sexual harassment which is what they are doing - they are using the fact that you are a girl and they are blokes to intimidate you - if he tried to hurt you by setting traps or has been using sexually exploitative language such as b**** and mother f*r then thats what that is and you are within your rights to request they provide you with alternative accomodation. if the line manager is a bloke., the fact that he isnt helping you is perpetuation of the harassment too. tell him that, and that you are willing to go to the ombudsman that governs halls of residence if he doesnt do something. Ask for a copy of their harassment policy and full user agreement and policies regarding problem roommates, by law they have to provide you with them. you can also call citizen's advice, they are online and ask them to get involved - they are certified lawyers and so can go to court with you if they need to.

:) i was a student rep at uni and the heads of departments used to run when they saw me coming to their offices, by the end of my third year, i was known by name to everyone! People come up to me in the street cause they remember my campaigns at uni too! ha ha

if you were in scarborough i know the arresting sargeant and could have sent him to you, also very friendly with the police in hudds since i got broken into - dont know anyone in london though - can we start a thread on here asking if anyone is marrying a police in your vicinity? whats the use of a network if you dont use it :)

My best friend split up from her fella and had to go back to collect all her stuff, when we had got her back home, we decided a watch of her favourite ally mcbeal collection and wine would cheer her up! When she went to get the dvd out, he had stuck every single one into the case with super glue!!!! He was an absolute k n o b! but i must admit i think that was a good one! had us in stitches!!!

Capmus security are a joke at my uni, one of them enjoys intimidating girls, and even came in my at 3.30am, good job my h2b was there, yet I got into trouble for not signing him in!!!!!! Joke!
