Hello everyone,

I have a bit of an issue with my wedding dress. I was slightly unsure when I bought it but I was with my mum and after a little push we said thats the one and did it. When I got home I immediately felt like I had made the wrong decision but we had paid in full for an off the rack dress and the shop was closing down so I thought stuff it it'll do and that I could probably pull it off.

It's now less than 5 months till the wedding and my dress fitting is Thursday and I'm seriously thinking about just buying an ebay/china dress that will actually suit me and I'll be confident it. I don't see how anyone could offer a solution to this issue and am aware that it's my fault I'm in this situation but would really appreciate any advice anyone has.

Thats the dress, I love the lace but I hate the shape of it, I would like a sweetheart neck line and more a line/ princess shape. x

The neckline can be changed to a sweetheart easily. The fullness of the skirt can be changed by letting it out at the seams and adding an underskirt. Although from looking at the dress I'm not sure by how much.
A good seamstress can work miracles with a dress. Try to go in with an open mind and maybe a picture of dresses that show the details that you want.

I agree with sarah change the top to a sweetheart neckline Tatty if thats all it takes for you to have your dream dress whats stopping you its still the same dress just not a a line top

I know this doesn't help much, but I think your dress is beautiful. If you're not happy with it though, then there is absolutely no point in wearing a dress that you don't feel fantastic in. As sarah said, there are always possibilities to change it. But if not, I would say definitely buy another hpcheaper dress online. If it will make you feel beautiful on the day, then that's all that matters!

I disagree that you can't be happy with your dress. You can just go in with an open mind, like you're trying on the dress for the first time. A dress always looks different on then it does on the catalog pictures of it.

I don't think this dress would be able to be made into an A line shape unless it was a couple of sizes too big for you already, but the neckline will easily be able to be turned into a sweetheart one for you. I agree with Sarah, try your dress on again with an open mind and you may actually really love it, if not then start looking for some good seamstresses to do the alterations for you xxx

P.S. I really love the dress and think a sweetheart neckline would set it off perfectly! xxx

i was having second thoughts about my dress as it took 7-8 months to arrive in the shop. but when i tried it on i fell in love with it again. you must have liked the dress in the first place to get it so i wouldnt worry too much. im sure you will feel great it in when you try it on. anyway...if you dont like it you can go and try some samples on in other shops - ask for dresses that are in stock. you still have time tatty (we are getting married the same day and thats what i would do if i was in your position) xx

I know this won't help your situation, but it really is a beautiful dress. I'm sure there won't be a problem altering it to sweetheart neckline either.

Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. The fitting actually went well. I put the dress on and I was right... I didn't like it but it was ok because it was reallly big on me. Luckily the seamstress pinned it so its got more of a flare at the bottom and can make the neckline sweetheart easily. She's only charging me 50 pounds for the alterations which is awesome!! Such a releif that I get the dress of my dreams without having to buy another dress!!! xxxx
