We're getting married in Gretna and having a small wedding. We're trying to keep our budget quite low so that we can put money into a good honeymoon - but a few months ago we picked our wedding car and booked it (a Beauford). It's a lovely car, but the company wouldn't take a deposit yet, as we'd booked so far in advance. We're supposed to be paying it in a few months.

But ever since booking it I've been nagging h2b for a VW camper instead (I'm mad of them - cups and coasters around the house, fridge magnets etc and even a gorgeous lamp that h2b bought me when we first started seeing each other). The other night, while we were out at a party he finally said yes to the idea. At first I thought he was either joking or had a bit too much to drink lol.

The Beauford is only going to cost £140 but the VW camper is £250 - and the guilt is now kicking in. I haven't changed the booking yet (it's a different company for the VW) - and really don't know what to do. In one way it'd be great to have the camper, but given we're budgetting and that h2b did pick the Beauford I'm so stuck. I've already shelved the idea of having the wedding filmed because of the cost (we're having a Gretna Wedding package and the DVD was another £160 - but if I have the VW I'd be spending that much really). Any advice suggestions??? Pics of both cars on my profile...

its not that much difference in price, yeah £110 is a lot of money to find but an amount like that can be easily made up somewhere else. i would go with the one you really you want xx

£110 is an expensive taxi ride! For example if the journey takes 10 mins its £11 a minute.....I stick to the first car personally and stretch the budget for the video which will last a lifetime. £160 over the rest of your life is less than a penny a minute. But as with everything weddingy we are all different and it all comes down to personal taste and what you really really want.

After a long think, and talk with h2b again - I've decided on the camper!! It just seems the right thing and is quite poignant as one of the first presents h2b gave me was a vw lamp. We know that hiring one for a break/holiday wouldn't happen for a long time due to cost but this is going to make the day extra special. And you never know, at £160 I might even have enough time to save for the DVD as well lol.
