Ok, I'm getting married on 31st August and almost nothing has been done. I've got a church, venue and dress sorted but thats about it. We haven't even got the invites done :-(
I was getting busy with all the planning until a couple of months ago when my SIL decided to kick my brother out and basically destroy their marriage of 22 years. Its made it pretty hard to get enthusiastic about the wedding now, when I was imagining the perfect married couple it was my brother and SIL I always thought of :-(
Its so difficult to find time to do everything too. We both work full time and have a little toddler so if we aren't at work we are clearing up or sleeping.
Right, thats my moan over with. I guess I just need to roll up my sleeves and get busy. Lol, as I'm clueless that thats lots of posts on here to get some tips!

Cheers :-)
It is really difficult though, the SIL was going to be my MOH but that has obviously changed. My neice was/is going to be my bridesmaid and I've got her outfit and shoes and everything, but I'm not allowed to see her at all so I haven't a clue whether she'll be allowed to be at the wedding (my SIL has decided to cut my brothers family out entirely, nice eh).
Have you decided on your theme/colours? If not, that would be a good place to start as its the basis for a lot of things. Once you've got that sorted, think of the flowers you would like (if you're not sure, tell us your colours and I'm sure loads of the other ladies and I can help you) then contact a florist to get it booked. To save a bit of money, I am buying flowers straight from a wholesalers and then getting them to the florist who will do the arranging so she only charges me labour. Also, before going to florist, decide on how you want your centrepieces, as if they have flowers you will need to specify how they are arranged.
Does your venue provide the food or will you need caterers to come in? If it's the latter then you need to sort catering asap! Photographers get booked up quick so hunt one down soon and the same for hair/makeup artist, wedding cars and cake.
As you don't have loads of spare time I would advise you not to think about DIY invites as mine took aaaages so just go for shop bought ones if you need to save money and customise them a bit if you have the time afterwards. If you have a bigger budget have a look into the professionally printed ones.
Suits can be sorted kind close to the time (up to a month before possibly) but check with where you are wanting to hire from (if you're doing that) if they still have your date free and get them to at least pencil you in.
I think I've covered the big things, when you get them out the way, you can start to think about the finer details like favours, guestbook etc which can easily be done close to the time.
Hope some of this helps and don't worry you're wedding will be amazing and your marriage will last if you want it to! xxx

Lol, a bit late on the DIY invites - we have designed them but haven't got around to putting them together!
Venue does the food so ok there and we've already figured out (just haven't done anything) about the what the groom's lot will be wearing so thats something.
I'm worried about hair though. Make-up I've got covered but hair, well haven't a clue where to start. I figured I'd ask my hairdresser for any stylist recommendations but apart from that I don't know where to start.
On a plus side, I've contacted Smooch for an appointment about rings and my fiance and I actually agreed on a wedding cake last night (SIL mum was going to do one for us but obviously that isn't happening now).
Getting flowers from a wholesalers sounds like a good idea! Do you have to buy in bulk?

Ah that was like us, I designed ours last spring and was supposed to do them over xmas but only ended up doing them last minute when we sent them out last week! Ask if your bms or other family/friends if they can help you with invites to get them done more quickly.
I haven't sorted my hair out yet either (whoops), I know what I want but can't find a mobile hairdresser. For the style, work with what suits your dress and what makes you feel good. If you have a pic of the dress and you are okay with it, maybe you could upload it for us to see and help with ideas?
That's good about your rings, I forgot that one! Ask around your friends and family if they could or know anyone that does cakes. If your budget is tight and you can't find anyone to do it cheap enough, try m&s, adding fresh flowers can make it look classy and nobody would tell where you got it.
Thanks, I was adamant on fresh flowers as we have a nature theme but ordering them like normal cost wayy too much! No we don't have to buy in bulk, they are set prices for stems. xxx

The cake we are wanting is from M&S, I've put a pic in my gallery.
I can't find a pic of my wedding dress anywhere and I've actually forgotten what it looks like. Its the Jessica from Berketex Brides. I've searched everywhere for a pic!
Is it worth going back to the shop and trying it on again and getting some pics to help with the hair do you think?

Your cake looks beautiful, I suppose you could buy it from there if it comes to it.
I think it's definitely worth going back to get pics as it will also help with choosing your jewellery, it's an excuse to put it on again and you will have pics to drool over :) xxx
