Im about a 12/14 up top and a 16 down below with my thighs being the thing I need to hide the most :S
So any information you have on style ect you think would suit please share.. outfit can be any colour other than red :)

I have exactly the same problem. I tend to wear wide-legged trousers with a nice top and wedges. Draw attention to your b00bs, but not in an overt way. My favourite top is a sort of vest with a matching cardigan-style that ties just below my 'girls'.
Hope this helps

oooo not looked at trousers for some reason I always tend to think 'dress' for a wedding :s Prob as my trousers are always too big at the waist to accommodate the erm fat thighs lol but will see if I can spot anything :)
yep melody its a pain in the bum lol

A dress with a fitted bodice and a circle skirt looks great on a pear-shaped figure. The big skirts make it look as though the skirts are big rather than your hips. I LOVE Vivien of Holloway dresses and have worn them to LOADS of weddings/parties/receptions etc. Even the slimmer skirts they do are bigger on the bottom and hips than on the bust.
what colours do you like? what is your dress sense ??

The beauty of wide-legged trousers is, if you can find the right style, the waist will fit while the thighs are still loose.
Now, I'm not sure what colour trousers will suit you (I'd suggest white, but no-one but the bride wears white to a wedding!) but if you keep the brighter colour to your top half it will keep the focus away from the bits you'd rather hide

I actually got quite a nice posh looking pair from Peacocks several months ago. Fit comfortably, except for the fact I'm a short@rse and had to get them taken up! Grey sounds like it would work lovely.

yeah i think i gain weight at the moment on bum and thigh my goodness used to be quite slim but doesnt stop so u need to find something which is showing ur boobs a bit more and less of the other bits its difficult though coz i have made those mistakes bought the wrong cloths nt good at buying trousers or skirts (as my knees look ugly i prefer knee long skirts) also tempt to wear things which make my bum look bigger than it i think actually is :s ... dont wear white or very light beige as it makes u look bigger than u really are choose more navy, black or some grey ... u can put lovely colorful accessories instead :) thats what i reckon could work fine :)

Have you any designer outlets near you? I find these are pretty good if trying to find something nice, and they normally have a range of shops to suit everyone.
Hope you find something soon,
Vickie xx

Have a look at a website called Deadly Is The Female, and a dress which is called "Birdie". It's classy, and would cover your hips and thighs and comes in a nice shade of blue? There are a couple of other nice ones on there for pear shaped ladies. x

I've been listening to aunty Gok and he says that you have to balance out your curves so if you are bottom heavy go for something that comes out on the shoulders to balance you out and then pull you in at the waist.

Aunty Gok, I love it , lol. x

Don't say no to all maxi dresses though, they do hide lots and if you buy one with an empire line they can flatter a fuller figure, new look have loads of really nice bright colours :D

I often difficult to get dresses which fit in all the right places they fit my boobs and hips but not my waist, so often choose to wear skirt or trousers with a top x

my eldest daughter is exactly the same..a 12/14 on top and a 16/18 on the bottom..she has a lovely waist but hates her bum and thighs. She tends to go for cross over tops belted at the waist with floaty long skirts..or maxi dresses..a 14 seems to flatter her slim top and hide the bits she doesn't like. Also the wide legged pants in a 14 in chiffon seem to be lovely on her too.
